Chess Club at UWM Championship

Background

This is a tournament that decides who is the top USCF-rated player in the Chess Club at UW-Milwaukee. In the past, this was decided by a tournament circuit throughout a semester. In Fall 2024, the tournament circuit would eventually form the Southeast Wisconsin College Chess League, with the Chess Club at UWM beginning a four-round G/25d5 single-day club championship the week following the SWCCL season.

Active membership as a UWM student, faculty, staff, or alumnus/a is required to be eligible for the title of Club Champion or Club Blitz Champion in the Chess Club at UWM. Any player may earn class prizes in club championship events.

The Fall 2025 Chess Club at UWM Club Championship will take place at 4:30 pm on Friday, November 21, 2025 in the UWM Student Union, Room W181. The Fall 2025 Chess Club at UWM Blitz Championship will take place at 4:30 pm on Friday, October 24, 2025 in the UWM Student Union, Room W181.
