By connecting with the counselors through their online counseling services, you will have a better chance of connecting with a counselor faster. It is possible to call the counseling department and leave a message as counselors check voicemails several times throughout the day and will return the phone call.
Ohlone’s tutoring services can really make a difference in your understanding of the material. They can review content, work on practice problems or review exams with you. It is a wonderful resource, available online, so check out the times you can enter the Biology and Chemistry Tutoring Center! It is a Drop-in service, no appointments needed!!
EOPS offers programs and services to help students who have been economically and educationally disadvantaged reach their goals to graduate with a vocational certificate or associate degree and transfer to a four-year university. One must apply to the program, and would remain in the program until 70 Degree Applicable Units have been completed.
Financial Aid could make it possible for you to continue your education even if you cannot meet the full costs of the college. Please check out how to apply.
Ohlone’s Tech Help Services can assist you in many ways. For example, if you scroll through their links, you can be assisted by an IT person with any Canvas issues or general technical issues (wi-fi, student e-mail, Zoom, etc). IT can also loan you tech equipment for a semester if you complete an emergency form. The MSC addresses social justice issues through various culturally-relevant programming events. Learn about the multiple events and services offered and how students are connecting with one another.
The library is the mecca of information (no, not google!). At the Ohlone Library, you can find helpful services to get the information that you need. Additionally, a librarian can assist on where and how to collect information for a research project, or watch tutorials on specific research topics, such as how to citate references correctly.
Food security is important for being able to dedicate your time to work and studying for your classes. All students are welcomed to the Ohlone Pantry, a free food assistance program. Signing up is simple as filling out a form. In addition, Calfresh is a federal program that one can enroll in and receive an EBD card. CalFresh applies to student individuals without a family as well.
SAS helps to arrange classroom and exam accommodations when needed. They will determine what accommodations you qualify for and keep your information confidential. You do not need to tell me the reason behind an accommodation, and please know that your individual needs are often invisible online.
Through the counseling department and a system called Student Lingo, Ohlone offers several On-Demand Student Success Workshop through Student Lingo. Workshops range from College Success skills to Online Learning Strategies. You will need to create an account with your Ohlone Student email address and Canvas/WebAdvisor login.
The Veteran’s Resource Center can help veterans with a dedicated veteran’s counselor who can help you navigate the VA and their processes along with your academic goals. It is a wonderful place to meet other veterans from different branches for support and guidance.
Success in college is reliant on good health. The Wellness Central on Canvas is a great resource for all kinds of health information. Scroll down to the “6 Dimensions of Wellness”, where you will find a wealth of links intended to provide guidance and connect you with local services.

Students Together in Education Prevention is about the promotion of student mental health. This wonderful resource lead by staff and Student Wellness Ambassadors (so many have been my past students!) are dedicated to reducing stigma associated with mental health and encouraging help when help is needed.
The Crisis Support Services of Alameda County has a 24-hr Crisis hotline at 1-800-309-2131.
The health center provides primary and urgent care, immunizations, diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, over the counter medications, HIV testing and counseling, health education, and mental health services.
