Computing power

The lab has a 350-cores computing CPU-cluster, available by ssh-ing to cortex.lnx.biu.ac.il.

We also have a 20-GPU cluster, shared with other labs of the data-science institute.

We also have a couple of GPUs on cortex. See detailed list under SYSTEM FAQ

File system

Our file system is organized as follows:

• 1. Home directory: Each user has a home directory with a quota of 25Gb. This disk space is backedup, and should be used for code, results, papers, presentations etc.

  2. Additional user space: Each user also has (non-backed) disk space at /cortex/$USER/.

  3. Use this pace to store large run files.

  4. Shared space. Under /cortex/. This space includes code (under /cortex/code, /cortex/scripts) and data (under /cortex/data), and is accessible for all lab members. The data is organized as /cortex/data/datatype/subtype/dataset.

  5. For example:

     1. /cortex/data/microarray/human/Kang2011/

     2. /cortex/data/images/MNIST/

Lab's laptop

A laptop for presenting at conferences etc. To get it: check with the last person that traveled.

Media equipment

High quality headphones are available. Let us know if you need another one.

High quality speaker/microphone for conference calls.

Go-PRO camera (hero 3)

Used to collect video data. Ask around who's the last person that used it.
