2026.03.08 I know - long time no updates here.
It's not that nothing has been going on with my writing. It's just been very minimal because I'm learning how to be a good real estate agent. Though I told Nikki the other day that had I put as many hours and money into my books I would be way further on my TBW list.
Today I worked on my notebook organization. Yep, exciting stuff.
Seriously though, I needed to get the titles and notes organized so I can refocus.
Very excited about some AI programs that I'm learning that will help with the illustration issues and maybe help me with my bigger, more complicated projects.
I also realized that even though I love real estate, I was meant to write books. So now to balance the two. I'll let you know how that's going soon.
For tonight, I need to rest. I'm still not 100% recovered from the ecoli infection. But tomorrow is going to be a great day.
Love you bunches
2025.06.27: Lots of things happening here.
I got the artwork back for book 4 so going to finish that up this weekend (I hope).
In the middle of writing The Carmen Contract. Or should I say rewriting. It was originally Executive Decision but I decided it needed a complete overhaul. Go figure. But I think it's on a much better track and I've gotten new inspiration for the rest of the romance series.
Also opened my TikToc shop to sell the books on there. Praying it goes well. So now my children's books are everywhere. Yay
Going to be looking into doing some of those reading apps. See how much they pay. There are also a couple writer / pay apps that I'm looking into. I'm trying to stack my work at this point so that as I write the romance series the short drafts can be app stories. Then publish the full edited version as a book.
I've also been working on my following on TT but still just under 7k at this time.
2025.05.14 Not going to lie. Went through a bit of self doubt this last weekend. Had to take some time to break down what I've done, where I'm going, and if it's really coming together or not. I know all (or at least most) authors go through this. It did help to step back and get perspective. Bonus is I've got renewed energy and a game plan.
Since the 4th book in the Chilly Night series should be press ready by the end of June, I'm going to start working on final drafts of the next one. Also on my agenda is one of the Miss Amy children's books. I'll make an announcement soon on my new website for all things books.
Oh yeah. I built a new website for Mauz Publishing. So now all those books and future books have a home. Also updated my author profiles on a few sites because it really is time to start getting serious about marketing. Nobody can read the books if they don't know about them.
Anyway. Bunches of exciting stuff happening. I hope you will go out to the new website and tell me what you think.
2025.05.08 Got an illustrator! So working on Book 4. I'll post cover art soon.
2025.04.14 Ok, so I'm working on getting Piggies in my Pocket uploaded to a new printer to make it easier to send single copies to my friends who buy them here. I also have to reload it to Amazon. But since I'm at it, I'm going to convert it to an eBook. My goal is to have this done by the end of this upcoming weekend. So if I'm not on social media as much, you'll know why.
As for new projects - I have a few on my whiteboard in the office. Not sure which one to choose first:
1 - A book 2 to So, Fun Fact
2 - A book 2 for Piggies
3 - Book 4 in the Chilly night series
It's a tough choice. I have all of them outlined and almost ready to go to art. But I've learned that it's best to focus on one thing at a time. So what do you think?
2025.04.27 Well, I'll be honest. I haven't gotten to finishing up any books. But on the positive side I've been working on a lot of the back end stuff that needs to be done like author pages, social media, sales links, and uploading all of my other books to ebooks and other printing platforms. So far I've only hit a couple snags.
My thoughts on this is that it's so necessary to be done. Plus once it's done, then it's just updates and such as needed. Big authors seem to all have big reach on platforms. Sure it's probably done by assistants and publishing houses but I'm up for a challenge. My inner introvert gives me a little push back every now and then so we go for a walk on the elliptical until she calms down LOL. If we are going to reach our goals, then we have to put in the work.
The great news is I'm learning so much! I'm also getting some amazing ideas for future books and goals.
So my list of "marketing" to do's is still pretty long. But don't worry, I'll be back to writing here real soon.
2025.04.28 Last night I made some serious progress. Next step is to put together an actual website for Mauz Publishing and my different author personalities. I do have to say that while I was putting together the author bios and such, I was really getting inspired to start writing again. I've had to put it on hold while I'm laying the foundation to take this writing thing seriously. Oh, I can't wait for the day when I'm making enough money to pay someone else to do this back end stuff LOL. Until then, I will wear the many hats that is part of being a published author. I'll upload the link to the new page here soon.
