Call for Volunteer Drivers to Support our Fridge

Do you live in the Loughborough area and have your own car ?

Would like to spend a few hours per week providing a vital service for our Community Fridge ?

If so we’d love to hear from you….

We urgently need some extra volunteers to help us collect donations.

You’ll be using your own car to pick up donations from major supermarkets in the Loughborough-Shepshed area, and bring them to the Fridge. All mileage travelled related to volunteer work will be reimbursed, currently at the rate of £0.45/mile. Full training for the role will be given.

Why not consider becoming a volunteer for our Community Fridge ? 

Demand for our services continues to grow as the cost of living crisis develops, and we need more volunteers to maintain our food recycling efforts on behalf of the local community.

Volunteering can be a rewarding and worthwhile experience, and will also provide valuable training in food handling and storage techniques. The training  we provide would also be valuable for those considering a career in the food retailing industry.

Volunteering with us should not take up too much of your time (ca 2hrs/week), and will also provide you with valuable experience of team-working in a friendly atmosphere.
