For the past 2 years I've had the pleasure to work with a 2nd-4th combination class at Golden Hills Academy in San Rafael (now Novato). The school is specifically designed to work with students who are on the spectrum, neuro-divergent, or have certain learning disabilities. It teaches from kindergarten to 5th grade. During my time here I've been able to work closely with the students and had even been able to interact with the other classes and work with their students as well. I've been able to create close bonds with many of the students and I consider myself very lucky to be someone they feel comfortable  opening up to. Being here has shown me how each and every student really are different from each other and require different needs; that it's a whole process in getting to know your students and working your entire class on how to meet the different needs of each one. With that, I appreciate how hands on it is to be in this classroom/school.

I've recently had the pleasure to be placed in two 2nd grade classrooms at  Crestview Preparatory School in La Cañada. A private school, teaching students from Kindergarten to 6th grade, it aims to provide them a quality education filled with many enriching activities incorporated into their curriculum. Although I've only been here for a week or so, I feel that I've been able to experience so much in the short time that I'll be there. I've also been able to create many close bonds with many of the students in each class and I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to bridge the gap since the first day. Being in this school has really given me insight to the workload expected of us during and after school hours now that I'm in a more formal setting.
