 Table of Contents

In College Board's Capstone AP Seminar course, students explore the complexities of one or more themes by making connections within, between, and/or among multiple cross-curricular areas and by exploring multiple perspectives and lenses (e.g., cultural and social, artistic and philosophical, political and historical, environmental, economic, scientific, futuristic, ethical) related to those themes. Students develop and apply discrete skills identified in the learning objectives of the enduring understandings within the following five big QUEST ideas:

Question and Explore

Understand and Analyze

Each year in January, College Board releases its Stimulus Packet that AP Seminar students must use to complete Performance Task 2. Students must choose at least 1 selection to use as a springboard for their original Research-Based Essay and Timed Presentation. All students have submitted their work to College Board by May 1, 2023.

Chapin Symposium requires that AP Seminar students extend their research and their presentation beyond the initial College Board requirements in order to present their research and ideas to a panel of judges, many of whom share interests or careers in the selected topics.

AP Seminar students will share the selections they used for their extended research, and those selections should be included on their websites and discussed in the presentation. The entire packet is included here for your review.
