At the heart of the Midwest, a revolution is underway, driven by the ingenuity of tomorrow's engineers. ChallengeUSA (CUSA) is a Midwest USA organization including both Electrathon and Supermileage programs. ChallengeUSA (CUSA) hosts competitions for high schools from the greater midwest area. Wisconsin serves as the main hub with teams, predominantly traveling from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan. ChallengeUSA (CUSA) is a dynamic platform leading the charge, confronting the environmental footprint of conventional cars by empowering students to create alternate solutions. The mission is two-fold and intensely hands-on: through the Electrathon program, teams design and construct pure electric vehicles, pushing the limits of battery technology and efficiency in a high-stakes endurance race. Simultaneously, the Supermileage program challenges students to engineer gasoline-powered cars that chase unheard-of fuel efficiency numbers, demonstrating the staggering potential of streamlined design. This isn't just a competition; it's a powerful statement that a sustainable, high-performance future is not a distant dream—it's a tangible reality they are building, one innovation at a time.
