Energy Efficient Motorsports
Welcome to ChallengeUSA - the home of Energy Efficient Motorsports in the Mid-West United States!!! With 5 events each year, we bring real world applicable STEM education to Middle School and High School students across; Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota.
Video on Right: Created by students from Kimberly High School in 2014, this video highlights one of the premier events in ChallengeUSA's lineup - Road America.
This program is the golden ticket for hands-on, cross-curricular STEM integration. It's not just a project; it's a dynamic, year-long learning experience that hits every mark on your curriculum map:
Applied Physics & Math: Watch abstract formulas become real-world design choices when students calculate aerodynamics, gear ratios, and battery efficiency to squeeze every last mile out of their vehicle.
Engineering & Manufacturing Mastery: Your students will become a full-service design-to-production team, using CAD software, implementing rapid prototyping, and mastering fabrication techniques like welding and composite lay-up. They'll apply concepts from mechanical, electrical, and materials engineering in a single project.
The Sustainability Challenge: Go beyond classroom discussions on climate change. By building an Electrathon vehicle (pure electric endurance) or a Supermileage car (hyper-efficient gas or alternative fuels), your students are actively designing solutions to the world's most pressing energy and environmental problems.
The best part? ChallengeUSA (CUSA) provides the ultimate real-world accountability. The results aren't just a grade—they're measured on a closed course against other teams! You're not just teaching; you're mentoring a professional engineering team from blueprint to checkered flag!
Ready to ditch the textbook for a wrench and a race track? 🏁
ChallengeUSA isn't just a club; it's a high-octane engineering lab disguised as a competition. This is your shot to move beyond theory and get your students' hands dirty building the future of transportation—right now.
Tired of endless labs that lead to nowhere? The ChallengeUSA (CUSA) programs—Electrathon and Supermileage—are your chance to build a project that is literally mobile proof of your talent.
Maximum Performance, Minimum Energy: This is engineering at the razor's edge.
In Electrathon, you'll optimize battery management and motor performance to stay on the track longer than anyone else on a single charge. It's a high-speed game of electric chess.
In Supermileage, you'll chase the elusive goal of extreme fuel efficiency, designing a vehicle that could potentially get thousands of miles per gallon. This is where innovation changes the rules of transportation.
The Ultimate Resume Builder: Ditch the dull and get out on the track! The skills you'll gain in team-based problem-solving, budget management, advanced fabrication, and data-driven design are exactly what top universities and employers in the automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy sectors are looking for. You'll have a portfolio piece that literally drives.
Compete and Conquer: This is your chance to test your design under pressure. You’ll stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other top student engineers, pitching your technical report and watching your creation perform on the track.
Stop studying the problem. Start designing the solution.
Join ChallengeUSA (CUSA) and transform your passion for tech into a competitive edge!
