The Central Young Chakma Association (CYCA) expressed serious concern over the reported installation of a boundary stone by the Central Young Lai Association (CYLA) on 13th February, 2026, at the bank of the Tuichawng River within the jurisdiction of Parva Village Council under the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC).
According to CYCA, the area in question has remained under the lawful jurisdiction of the CADC since its establishment in 1972. The association further observed that such an act appears to disregard the provisions laid down under the Pawi-Lakher Autonomous Region (Re-organisation) Order, 1972.
In this connection, CYCA submitted a communication to CYLA requesting the removal of the said boundary stone. The association stated that the matter required immediate attention and appropriate action in order to avoid misunderstanding between the two communities and to maintain peace, harmony, and mutual respect in the region.
CYCA reiterated the importance of resolving such matters through dialogue, understanding, and lawful means in the interest of maintaining communal harmony and peaceful coexistence.
