Dental management is just as much healthy as it is vanity. poor dental health is bad for the heart because toxins can trickle from the mouth and cause several heart complications not to mention bad breath, cavities and more.
we need strong teeth for eating
we need a great smile to make ourselves marketable in the economy such as dating or during job interviews, often people with good habits are great workers. With that said, dental management is simple and can be fun once you fall in love with your smile.
A good rule of thumb is to devote 5 minutes at the end of the night consisting of brushing flossing and mouthwash. If you can't do a simple 30 second brush after each meal, at least chew a small piece of gum. finally, try to brush 1st thing in the morning for at least 30 seconds. the general idea is to keep your teeth clean of particles. so any time you get anything in your mouth, technically you want to clean it out, but too much of anything is a bad thing, don't over brush your teeth, just keep them clear of debris and thoroughly clean before bed daily.
For those that are similar to me, 2 minutes before and after bed, and floss on the go regularly
The massage bristles on the brush scrub softly against the teeth using a slightly abrasive paste to break down and scratch away plague, left over food, and bacteria, trapping them in a bubbly foam and eventually being released as waste. be sure to brush around the entire mouth for excess oils fats and bacteria's. Food particles also exist outside the naked eye as well.
My favorite paste is the Colgate Optic White in the red and white tube for the deep clean. whitens teeth the best and makes me feel like my mouth is the cleanest and i use a basic Colgate tooth paste for my maintenance throughout the day and in the morning because its cost effective and i use it a lot. brushing too often with whitening toothpastes can also be bad for your teeth. usually no more than 30 seconds for clearing food and a good rinse out and i'm done.
Brushes are preference unless money isn't an issue, they are basically all the same, but an electic brush with a water pick is the best most effective and healthy way to brush your teeth. I've met 80+ year old seniors that say, they will never brush another way again and there smile and teeth are nice as ever. toothbrushes start as low as .99 cents so invest in your smile and get a brush that fits your budget
Prior to floss picks, flossing was never gonna happen for me. wrapping string around my fingers and cutting circulations, having to turn my head at crazy angles to get 4 fingers in my mouth and place a string in the back of the mouth, chapped lips and sour gums to boot. now that we have floss picks its easier then ever to floss not only daily but throughout the day. i usually only floss at night when i do a thorough clean, but i keep floss in my car for times when i get food stuck in my teeth. the teeth are delicate so its important to not tamper with them constantly. when flossing, DO NOT PUSH INTO YOUR GUMS. this can push food into your gums and cause infections. instead simply wedge the string in between the teeth then floss from bottom to top resetting the floss after each up stroke. we don't have to be perfect because our tooth brush will do most of the work, we just need to focus on gently wiping the most center part of the teeth that often the bristles from the brush can not reach. THIS is the best floss to me because the strings don't break or shred.

Have you ever heard about the incredible story of Kleenex and how they became such a house hold name that instead of people calling the tissue paper and napkin or tissue, the world started calling it a Kleenex. well, while im on the topic, the lotion coated kleenex are the best things i've ever cleaned my nose with, but the point of this is that Listerine has done the same thing with mouth wash. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Listerine has cornered the market and there is really no need to go with anything else as they have several types for all preferences, so start trying them all and see which one you like, ol' faithful is this one if you wanna follow my trend. 30 seconds kills 99% of all bacteria in your mouth, and your body will reproduce the ones it wants and needs.
