Privacy Policy for Fast Notepad

Fast Notepad respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension processes, how it is used, and how it is protected.

1. Information Processed by the Extension

Fast Notepad processes the following information:

Notes and snapshots

Text entered into Fast Notepad, including saved snapshots, is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s local extension storage.

Your note content is not uploaded to the Fast Notepad payment server.

Clipboard content

Fast Notepad accesses clipboard content only when you actively click the Copy or Paste button.

Clipboard content is used only to perform the requested copy or paste action. It is not stored on the Fast Notepad server.

Installation identifier

The extension creates a randomly generated installation identifier. This identifier is sent to the Fast Notepad license server to:

• Check whether Premium is active

• Associate a successful Premium purchase with the extension installation

• Prevent duplicate license activation

The installation identifier is not intended to directly identify you.

Payment information

Premium payments are processed by PayPal.

Fast Notepad does not directly collect or store:

• Credit card numbers

• Bank account details

• PayPal passwords

• Full payment credentials

The license server may store limited transaction information received from PayPal, such as:

• PayPal order ID

• PayPal capture ID

• Payment amount and currency

• License activation date

• Associated installation identifier

2. How Information Is Used

Information is used only to provide Fast Notepad’s features, including:

• Saving and restoring notes locally

• Copying and pasting text

• Exporting notes

• Saving snapshots

• Processing Premium purchases

• Verifying Premium license status

• Preventing duplicate payment activation

• Maintaining service security and reliability

3. Data Sharing

Fast Notepad does not sell, rent, or trade user data.

Information may be shared only with service providers necessary to operate the extension, including:

• PayPal, for payment processing

• Railway, for hosting the payment and license server

• Google Chrome, as part of Chrome extension storage and platform functionality

These providers process information according to their own privacy policies and service terms.

4. Advertising

Fast Notepad does not use user data for:

• Personalized advertising

• Retargeting

• Interest-based advertising

• Building advertising profiles

5. Data Storage and Retention

Notes and snapshots remain in Chrome’s local extension storage until you:

• Delete them

• Clear the extension’s storage

• Remove the extension

• Reset your browser profile

License and transaction records may be retained on the license server for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Maintain lifetime Premium access

• Prevent payment fraud

• Resolve transaction issues

• Comply with legal and accounting obligations

6. Data Security

Fast Notepad uses HTTPS when communicating with its online payment and license server.

PayPal credentials are stored only on the server and are not included in the browser extension.

Chrome Web Store policies require extensions that handle user data to provide accurate privacy disclosures and securely transmit collected data.

7. User Choices and Data Deletion

You can remove locally stored note data by:

• Clearing notes and snapshots within the extension

• Clearing extension storage in Chrome

• Uninstalling Fast Notepad

To request deletion of server-side license or transaction records, contact the developer using the contact information below. Some transaction records may need to be retained where required by law or for fraud prevention.

8. Chrome Permissions

Fast Notepad uses the following Chrome permissions:

Storage

Used to save notes, snapshots, installation identifiers, and cached license status locally.

Clipboard Read

Used only when the user clicks Paste.

Clipboard Write

Used only when the user clicks Copy.

Downloads

Used when a Premium user exports a note as a TXT file.

Host access

Used to communicate with the Fast Notepad payment and license server.

Chrome requires developers to disclose local processing as well as transmitted user data, and the disclosures in the Chrome Web Store dashboard should remain consistent with the extension’s actual behavior and privacy policy.

9. Children’s Privacy

Fast Notepad is not specifically directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Fast Notepad’s features, services, or legal requirements change.
