This dance was inspired by the move called ‘La Baratte’ in Scottish Country Dance

A1 8 Circle left ¾

8 Partner swing

A2 4 RH to opposite (your original neighbour) balance forward and back

12 La Baratte: with the person opposite you:

4 Change places RH

4 Take left hands underneath the joined right hands

both hands raised, draw the lady across to change places (see note)

4 change places LH (retain left hands)

B1 8 LH star 3 places (ladies retain LH)

4 Ladies change places LH,

4 Men change places LH

B2 8 Neighbour swing

8 Right and left through to face new neighbours.

Note: When drawing the lady across to change places, the lady has her back to the man. Half the couples are facing up and half facing down. If the left hands are joined underneath the joined right hands, this is the only possible way to change places.)
