1 Easy Way:
No sharps or flats = C - or Am if sounds minor - look at the notes too
If it has sharps:
SHARP has 5 letters.
1 # - count up 5 from C - you get to G - G is the key
2 #s - count up 5 from C, you get the G, count up 5 again = D is the key
If it has flats
FLAT has 4 letters
1 flat - count up 4 from C = F = F is the key
2 flats - count up 4 from C, then 4 again = B (but not flattened) - key is Bb
If its in the middle of the score, look for additional accidentals in the run up, and what note is highlighted.Â
