Blended Courses

Blended courses have both a traditional and online component.

They meet in person part of the time (typically once a week) and the rest of the work is done online.

Getting approved to teach blended

There are several required steps in the Blended Course Review process:

  1. Obtain approval to begin the process from your Chair or Dean and work to identify a Course Reviewer.

  2. Request a blank D2L shell from CDI.

  3. Begin working through the eAcademy course for Blended.

  4. Work with an Instructional Designer in CDI with any questions or difficulties.

  5. Complete the Blended Course Self-Assessment Rubric and send to the Instructional Designer.

  6. Have the Course Reviewer finish their review and send to the Instructional Designer.

  7. Make any necessary changes recommended by the Instructional Designer or Course Reviewer.

  8. Showcase your course at the Exit Demo.

  9. Get approved to teach blended courses!

Before implementing your blended course, it will need to be reviewed by a content expert and a member of the CDI Team to ensure it meets the appropriate standards for blended learning at HACC.
