The South Carolina Aquarium is offering free virtual visits and nature challenges for families and children to tune in and watch and participate in from their homes due to the current closures. Families can tune in on weekdays at 10 a.m. EST on facebook and again at 1 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to become digital explorers and discover South Carolina's habitats. This is a fun way to get students engaged in new learning about South Carolina's underwater creatures!

You are able to actually do a tour of the whole aquarium with the virtual resource that they have provided. The cams are offered certain times throughout the day and it allows you to observe and watch the many behaviors of the different animals. This Discovery Education site allows students to watch Polar Bears in the Tundra. Since 2010, Discovery Education has teamed up with the Polar Bears International to hose a series of learning experiences to engage students and spark an interest in the study of an Arctic habitat. Students will learn about the Arctic ecosystems, adaptations, sea ice habitat, climate change, and more through a question and answer. The experience takes approximately 30 minutes white the Q&A parts 1 and 2 take approximately 30 minutes. The website gives great pre-viewing and post-viewing activities for different grade levels k-4.

The institute offers 5 different web cams to choose from based out of the Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia. This allows families and students to spend time familiarizing the different actions, behaviors, and routines the animals are in.

This gives viewers the opportunities to see the many different habitats that the zoo offers and how the animals reside. This virtual experience is a live camera feed of a giant panda at the Zoo Atlanta. After viewing the video footage, there is a separate link that has easy-to-use lessons that range in content and age level. There are also daily panda updates that students can read about.

This live camera feed is on the polar bears in the Ouwehand Zoo’s tundra exhibit in Rehen, Netherlands. There are two polar bear cubs, born in 2014, that play with their mother and grandmother. There is a comment section with a community of people watching the polar bears.
