We offer a variety of printing options for A4 or A3 sizes, ranging from standard laserjet printing to more specialist inkjet options.
Prices can be found here.
Laserjet printing is a very quick and cheap printing technique.
These printers use your print credit on the Papercut system which can be topped up here.
We have the following options:
3x Sharp Black/White & Colour Laserjet Printers
These printers are Sharp MX-Series which use a CMYK toner system.

Risograph Printing is a digital equivalent to screen printing at A4/A3 size. Images have to be processed so that each colour prints separately, the same way you would prepare for screen or stencil printing. It uses a scanner bed, like a photocopier, to scan your black & white design and then print a single colour from a specialist colour drum. We have 16 colours to choose from, all listed below.
Purchasing a Riso Print
To use this printer you will have to use our Print Submission page. It DOES NOT use your Papercut credit.
Riso Master
This includes...
1 x master (1 single colour print)
3 x draft prints to help you position your print to your needs and let the ink appearance reach better quality.
1 x final print
Riso Print
This includes one additional final print, using the master you previously created.
We suggest you bring your own paper stock to get best results, but it must be pre-approved by the CCI Digital Studios technical staff.
Max paper weight is 210gsm.
Anything heavier will jam or end up with poor print results.

Most courses that integrate the Riso printer into their units arrange their own demonstrations of how to use the printer.
If your course does not do this or you would like a refresher, you can email us at ccidigitalprint@port.ac.uk to arrange a quick demonstration at a convenient time. Or we can be found in Eldon South room 1.118 if you would like to arrange it in person.
The Risograph printer is mostly unavailable during lunch hours (12:30-14:00 Mon-Fri) and is always unavailable on weekends and bank holidays.
The Risograph printer is located in Eldon 01-112 (formerly 1.125).
Risograph Demonstrations
If you are a course lecturer or leader and would like to arrange some Risograph Demonstrations as part of any of your units, we can provide this. If you are a student and you are interested in this and think others on your course would be as well, please speak to your course leader or tutor and point them in our direction to arrange it for you. Simply send us an email to ccidigitalprint@port.ac.uk and we can arrange a suitable time with you. It is recommended to keep the class size between 10 and 15 students so not to overcrowd the area.
The demo will involve a basic intro into using the machine, showing how to:
Load a new colour drum.
Make a master.
Make a 3 colour print.
The students will not have to bring any designs as we will be providing the materials for the demonstration.
For more information about any of these processes or how to set up to use them, visit the Support Desk in Eldon 01-112 (formerly 1.125) or email: ccidigitalprint@port.ac.uk
