I joined the CCG group in 2024, with my supervision shared between
Dr Simone Zaccaria and Prof. Simona Parinello (Neurogenesis and Brain Cancer, UCL).
My research focuses on glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) initiation. Specifically, I hope to explore the timeline of tumour margin development in relation to the bulk. My hypothesis challenges traditional views and considers margin development and GBM infiltration into the healthy brain as an early event, prior to the tumour bulk formation. As well as understanding the formation of the margin, I am also interested in the evolutionary history of invasive clones, which are largely responsible for GBM recurrence, and aim to complete phylogenetic analyses to understand glioblastoma invasion.
My background consists of both experimental lab work and bioinformatics. I enjoy bridging these two aspects of research together as it helps to tackle scientific questions from multiple angles. More recently, I have developed experience in analysing single-cell data to understand tumour heterogeneity, and hope to pursue this during my PhD.
