Growing in Leadership through Life-Giving Daily Rhythms
Social workers in positions of leadership can establish daily patterns that are life-giving and formative, helping them to engage in their work sustainably and protecting them from burnout. In this session we’ll explore four such patterns: beginning and ending the day, rhythms of work and rest, thoughtful boundaries with technology, and creating space for prayer. We will be reminded that social workers are not working alone. The support that we provide to individuals, families, and communities happens within the context of God’s ongoing work of love and restoration in the world. Participants will identify one “next right thing”—a step they can take to move toward healthy patterns in their own personal or professional lives.
