Welcome to the Coolmath network! These sites got started way back in 1997 to make math enjoyable for people who thought it couldn't be fun. We're happy to report that we've convinced millions of people over the years that cool + math is an equation that makes sense.

That's why we are providing knowledge-building resources here—written materials for math (Grades K–12) and daily instructional videos for English language arts (Grades K–8), math (Grades K-12), and science (Grades 3–5). We will post new video lessons and update our content daily. Continue checking this page for more free resources as we refresh our content.

Bedtime Math is the brainchild of Laura Bilodeau Overdeck. While not a professional teacher, she does know something about numbers. As a kid she sat and memorized perfect squares for fun, back before it was cool. As a mom, she (along with her husband John) started giving math problems to their two older kids; when their 2-year-old started hollering for his own math problem, they knew they were onto something, and Bedtime Math was born.

Laura holds a B.A. in astrophysics from Princeton University, an M.B.A. in public policy from the Wharton School, and an honorary D. Eng. from Stevens Institute of Technology.

It’s a PreK-8 visual instructional program that leverages the brain's innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve mathematical problems.

Hi, my name is Colleen King. I created Math Playground in 2002 for students in my classes who needed a fun way to practice math facts. Since then, Math Playground has grown to include a wide variety of math topics, from problem solving and mathematical art to real world math and thinking games. When I'm not developing new activities for Math Playground, I enjoy sharing math strategies with other educators and have presented my work at the annual NCTM and ISTE conferences.
