On April 27th, 2021, I received my official offer letter for admission into Trent University's Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. I was beyond excited to be receiving my first offer to a nursing program on this day, as I felt as though my journey of achieving my dreams and becoming a nurse was finally off to an official start. This was truly a turning point for my entry into my new lifestyle and assured me that the countless hours, tough decisions, and amount of stress in making this decision happen was worth it. This is important to my nursing profession as a whole, because moments such as receiving my offer letter to this incredibly competitive program are what make the experience worth it, and drive me to never give up.
This is the Fall 2021 TUEFRT Team (Trent University Emergency First Response Team). I joined this team for many reasons, such as developing the emergency-response skills that would benefit me in my nursing career, getting involved in my school community, making campus a safer place, becoming a part of a team of like-minded people who want to safe lives and overall a fantastic experience of giving back to such an amazing cause. TUEFRT has had a huge impact on the lives of countless students throughout the years, and I want to feel as though I am using my lifesaving skills as a student as much as I can, and not just once I graduate as an RN. On July 16th, 2019 I graduated from my senior year of high school. This day was full of emotions, goodbyes, reflection, and, of course, excitement. On this day, fellow classmate mine Adam Duggan and I won the Headmaster's Cup together. This cup is one of the highest-distinction awards given out at my school's closing ceremony and it marks a student who embodies the spirit of our high school, through involvement, leadership, strong academic standing, and by inspiring others through living and doing everything possible to build a strong, supportive and caring school community. Earning this award gave me the opportunity to bask in all the hard work and involvement I pushed myself through during my high school years and reassured me that hard work will always, eventually, be acknowledged through opportunities and mementos such as this. This award also helped me receive many incredible university admission offers, jobs, and leadership positions I otherwise might not have been able to fulfill.

This photo depicts a vast stretch of unindustrialized land, with a hospital somewhat near. One of my main goals in life is to, one day, work as a Rural Nurse. This is important to me and the shaping of my career as I grew up for a large part of my life in a rural town, and I want to give back to the wonderful lifestyle of rural living, as a nurse. Regardless of whether or not I planned on doing nursing as a career or something else, I've always planned on spending my life somewhere out of the city, while serving a small population. When I found out that Trent offers a specialization in Rural Nursing, I was ecstatic. I want this photo to guide my nursing education, and eventually my career, so I can always remember where I came from and why I do what I do.
