Achievements and Awards

• 2022: 94.7 Ride Joburg cycling race

Completed the most famous cycling race in Joburg.

• 2019: Rim of Africa Thru-Hike

Completed a 650km thru-hike through the Cape Fold Mountains. See documentaries by videographer Donny Westhouse below.

• 2018: Kotze Kunsgalery in Bloemfontein, Free State

Was chosen to take part in an exhibition hosted by the gallery owners.

• 2018 to 2019: Bloemfontein Parachute Club

Completed Static Line Training as well as eight static line jumps.

• 2023: Rust-en-Vrede Portrait Award

Made it to the top 250 out of 800 entrants with my portrait, 'Pappa P'. See the portrait in the Creative Work section.

• 2020: OFM Radio's Real Good Recipe Book competition

Entered a recipe which was included in the final publication. See citation in the Publications and Presentations section.

• 2009 to 2011: Member of the East Rand Youth Orchestra

Obtained position as first chair of the second violins.

• 2006 to 2011: Member of the East Rand Youth Choir 

Participated in several international choir competitions: Prague, Czech Republic (2007), Riva del Garda, Italy (2010), and Stellenbosch, South Africa (2010).

• 2003: SABC Educational Television Advertisement

Partook in an educational televised advertising campaign hosted by the SABC.

• 2002 to 2006: Member of Cantare Children's Choir

Participated in the World Choir Olympics in  Bremen, Germany (2007) and Xiamen, China (2010).
