Technical Requirement
Microsoft Office 2019
You probably will not need the entire Microsoft Office suite of programs for this class. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint will be used in this class. As a student of Riverside Community College you have a free subscription to Office 365.
If you do not have a Windows based computer and are unable to take advantage of the free Microsoft Office download, you can enroll in RCC's Net Lab service which will allow MAC and Chromebook users to use Microsoft Office 2019 in a virtual environment.
Computer or Laptop
To participate in online or hybrid classes you must have regular access to a desktop or laptop computer for this class. Your computer should be able to work with Microsoft Office programs (MS Office is free for RCC students) and engage in video and audio conferencing.*
If you don't have a computer or laptop you may use computers in RCC Digital Library Computer Commons on campus at RCC.
If you use the RCC computers make sure you have a headphones/headset with a microphone.
*It's not required that you have a laptop that is ready for video conferencing but an inexpensive microphone/headphones are recommended.
Web Camera
Don't ditch your computer if you don't have a built-in web camera and microphone. You can purchase a good web camera online.*
Workplace communications now include digital forms, as well as web conferencing.
Your instructor can connect with you live in private or scheduled class web conferencing sessions.

A Web camera is not required but recommended if you want to schedule an online appointment for assistance with your instructor. If you don't have a Web camera you can arrange for a phone conference or down load the Zoom app from a smartphone or tablet
