Adoptable Dogs

Fred - Neutered Male, Mixed Breed

Fred, much like his brother Brody, has an upbeat and charming personality you can't help but fall in love with. He was born deaf but his special needs have not set him back and he has learned a few signs for basic command. Although we would prefer a family with experience working with hearing-impaired dogs, it is not required and we know with a little patience Fred will find his way. He is extremely excitable and eager for attention, once he settles down he perfectly demonstrates how tender and attentive he is to those around him. Fred does well with people of all ages and most other dogs, however, he would do best in a home without cats. He is a free spirit with a big heart and will make a dear friend to anyone who gives him the chance he deserves.

DOB: 7/28/2022

Ava - Spayed Female, Heeler/Shepherd Mix

Ava is a sweet girl who likes to take a little time getting familiar with new people. Once she warms up, she is quick to showcase her affectionate and loyal qualities that many people around her have grown to love. She is active and enjoys long walks and extra play time outdoors, and she doesn't hesitate to have fun in every season. Ava is extremely smart and eager to please, as long as she receives consistency and reassurance we know she is going to take very good care of her new owner. She tends to bond strongly and become quite protective over those she loves the most, and we believe she would do best as the only animal companion in the home so she does not have to compete for attention. That being said, Ava has made some canine friends in the shelter and seems to prefer males over females.

DOB: 7/21/2021

Baby - Spayed Female, Mixed Breed

Baby is a one-of-a-kind charmer. She wants nothing more than to love and be loved by everyone around her. She enjoys her scratches and belly rubs and having all eyes on her - so much so that she would be most comfortable as the only companion in the home. She tends to be quite active and playful. It would be ideal for her new family to ensure she gets daily exercise and playtime to keep her mind and habits healthy. She does know how to gauge herself and will always settle for some good one-on-one time. Baby knows her basic commands and will easily pick up daily routines and tricks with the proper support. All in all, she is a well-natured girl with a big heart and is ready to share it with a doting family.

DOB: 2/8/2021

Sloane - Female, Shepherd Mix

Sloane is a nice girl but it takes a bit of time to gain her trust. She's very nervous around new people and expresses that by barking. It's fairly easy to befriend her though. She's active and enjoys going for walks and running around the play yards. We know nothing about her past and don't know yet how she does around other animals. Sloane needs a family who will come spend time with her several times before taking her home (to develop trust and familiarity). She's active and smart and shows great potential for learning commands and becoming a loyal family pet.

DOB: 11/12/2023

Cocoa - Female, Mixed Breed

Cocoa has a cheery personality and tons of charm. She thrives in the company of adults and children alike. She enjoys meeting new people and does well with some dogs. She’s not been around cats and we don’t know how she feels about sharing a home with one. She knows a few basic commands and is eager to learn more with positive reinforcement training. She is a fence jumper and will require a safe, secure yard with a fence she cannot scale. Cocoa's sunny disposition and attentiveness make her a joy to be around. Nothing would make her happier than to find a home with an active family who will provide her with love, training and playtime.

DOB: 3/7/2022

Baby - Spayed Female, Pit Bull

Baby was born in the shelter in 2020 and recently returned due to not doing well with the other dog in the home. They coexisted somewhat well over the years but a new infant had caused Baby to become territorial. It goes without saying that she is an amazing family companion and will dedicate herself to her loved ones of a suitable age. You can often find her with the most fantastic grin and eagerness to give a warm welcome. Like most Pit Bulls, she would benefit from daily activity and exercise but she also enjoys a warm spot on the couch next to her favorite people, receiving every ounce of love she desires. Baby has done well with some dogs but would do best in a home as the only pet where she can have individual attention, and with older children who will treat her with the respect and kind touch she deserves.

DOB: 7/21/2020

Rain - Spayed Female, Pit Bull Mix

Rain was found sitting in a parking lot. No one claimed her and now she’s looking for a family that will keep her safe and sound and provide her with lots of love and attention. Rain is a friendly and active pup who enjoys watching the activity around her, napping in the sun and being showered with attention. She would be a perfect fit for an active family who loves going for walks, playing fetch or just cuddling on the couch. Rain's previous life is a mystery, but one thing's for sure – she's ready to move on to the next chapter.

DOB: 3/09/2021

Mars - Neutered Male, Shepherd/Heeler Mix

Mars might be a bit shy at first introduction but he warms up quickly to friendly faces. If you’re looking for a buddy for your outdoor activities, Mars is your guy! He thrives on long walks, playing in water and chasing balls (he will play fetch for hours if you let him). While Mars enjoys human company, he prefers his people to be teenagers and adults. Young children can be a bit too much for him and make him nervous. He can get along with other dogs, but his enthusiastic play might overwhelm some canine companions. Food is a serious business for Mars and he tends to be protective of his meals and treats.

DOB: 6/18/2016

Amethyst - Spayed Female, Pit/Rottweiler/Shepherd Mix

Amethyst is a whirlwind of playful energy and unwavering devotion. Having recently raised a litter of 10 adorable pups (who’ve all been adopted), she's ready to find her forever family and shower them with the same love and loyalty she gave her babies. She’s an active young lady who thrives on human companionship. She's highly vocal and won't hesitate to speak up when she wants attention, playtime or just to chat. While her experience with cats is unknown, she does okay with some dogs, especially if introductions are done slowly and in a controlled setting. For children, she's all about mutual respect - as long as they treat her kindly, she'll be happy to return the affection. Amethyst is eager to please and with patience and consistency, she can become a well-behaved companion. She would do best with an active family who enjoys spending time outdoors and can provide her with plenty of exercise and the love, attention and training she deserves.

DOB: 2/15/2019

Abu - Male, Border Collie Mix

Abu is a friendly boy with a great personality and lots of energy. He has a bit of a mischievous streak (he got into quite a bit of trouble with the neighbor’s chickens) but he's a loving and enthusiastic companion with so many stellar traits. He loves people of all ages and thrives on human interaction. He’s a quick learner who already knows several commands. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, he can become an even more well-rounded pup. He’s high energy - making him the perfect companion for active families or individuals. Walks, hikes, playing in water - Abu's up for it all! While friendly, Abu has a bit of a prey drive that isn't suited for homes with chickens or other small animals. We haven't observed Abu with cats and don’t know how he would do sharing a home with a feline friend. And due to his past experience with a horse (one stepped on his foot), Abu might not be suited for a ranch environment. A suburban setting would be a better fit. Abu might have had a slightly bumpy road in his short existence so far, but he's a loving and eager-to-please dog who just needs the right family and home environment.

DOB: 5/15/2023

Jessie - Spayed Female, Mixed Breed

Jessie is a spunky girl who's bursting with personality and ready to find her forever home. Jessie would do well with active individuals or families who can provide her with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She’s had some formal training and would benefit from positive reinforcement and consistency to help her become the best dog she can be. She’s alert, outgoing and friendly with everyone she meets. She’s extremely active and has tons of energy to burn. She does well with people of all ages but her energy and size may make her a bit overwhelming for very young children. Jessie hasn't lived with cats before and can be territorial with other dogs. Because of this, she would do best in a home where she can be the only pet.

DOB: 7/28/2022

Maverick - Neutered Male, Dachshund

Maverick came to the shelter with his good buddy Rex (see post below). He's quite unique with his all gray coat. He does well with most other dogs but would prefer a home free of small animals like cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc. (he likes to chase them). He knows several commands, is housebroke and typically very well behaved. He's not quite as outgoing as his friend Rex but he does well with people of all ages once he becomes familiar with them. He enjoys going for walks, watching the activity around him and snuggling with his favorite people.

DOB: 6/25/2015

Rex - Neutered Male, Dachshund

Rex came to the shelter with his good buddy Maverick (see post above). He does well with most other dogs but would prefer a home free of small animals like cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc. (he likes to chase them). He knows several commands, is housebroke and typically very well behaved. He's friendly, outgoing and does well with people of all ages. He enjoys going for walks, looking adorable for the camera, sneaking treats and snuggling with his favorite people.

DOB: 6/29/2014

Ahsoka - Spayed Female, Doberman

You may remember Ahsoka. She came to us about a year ago and was adopted earlier this year. She was recently returned because her owner’s work situation changed and he couldn’t provide her with the time and attention he felt she deserved. Ahsoka is a friendly girl who does well with people of all ages and most other dogs. She isn’t terribly fond of cats and would prefer a feline-free home. She’s super smart and knows numerous commands. She’s easygoing, active, obedient and protective. She enjoys going for walks and playing in water. She came to us initially because she kept jumping the fence and chasing the neighbor's livestock. Therefore, she will need a home with tall, secure fence that will keep her in and where she can't be tempted by nearby livestock.

DOB: 4/22/2018

May - Spayed Female, Pit Mix

May is a quiet sweetheart with a playful side. She's always up for adventure and loves nothing more than going for walks and playing fetch. She likes people of all ages and would be a wonderful companion for a family or single person seeking a loyal friend. Aside from her energetic attitude and playful side, she also enjoys relaxing cuddle sessions on the couch. May already knows a few commands and is eager to please. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, she can become an even more well-rounded pup. She doesn't care much for cats and needs a feline-free home. May isn't fully housebroken, but with close supervision, a consistent routine, and positive reinforcement, she'll be a pro in no time!

DOB: 5/2/2022

Simba - Neutered Male, Pit Mix

Simba is ready to conquer the world with a new family! He’s an active and enthusiastic pup overflowing with energy and ready to explore everything life offers. His attentiveness and intelligence make him a quick learner, while his playful side ensures hours of fun. He thrives on walks, playtime and adventures. His sunny disposition is contagious. You can’t help but be happy when you’re around him. He likes people of all ages, but would do best in a home with older children (i.e. teenagers) because his energy can be overwhelming to younger kids. He gets along with some other dogs but hasn't been around cats. Simba is eager to please and a quick learner. Positive reinforcement training will help him become a well-mannered companion. He will be an ideal addition to an active family that can keep up with his zest for life and provide him with the training and socialization he needs to thrive.

DOB: 02/17/2023

Pancake - Male, Pit Bull

Pancake was picked up by Metro when he was found wandering around. No one claimed him, but we were so smitten with his sweetness that we brought him to our shelter for some extra TLC. Pancake enjoys walks but would be happiest lounging around having his belly rubbed. He's a friendly fellow, though a bit shy at times – especially when a camera is pointed at him and he’s told to smile! He gets along well with some dogs but doesn’t care for kitties and would prefer a feline-free home.

DOB: 07/13/2021

Ori - Male, Lab Mix

Ori is a pleasant pup just itching for a family to call his own. He might be a little shy at first, but it doesn't take long for him to calm down and sit still for attention. He's a sweet pup who does well with people of all ages and gets along with most other dogs and even some felines. Ori oozes potential and is sure to be a quick and attentive learner. All he needs is consistent training and lots of love. He'd be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys playtime as much as he does and will see that he gets daily exercise and lots of mental stimulation.

DOB: 03/03/2024

Stitch - Male, Terrier Mix

Stitch was one of 19 out-of-state, at-risk dogs selected to be transported to us via Dog is My Co-pilot (a non-profit that transports animals from overcrowded shelters to adoption centers where loving families are waiting to adopt a new pet). He was initially a bit confused with all the activity going on around him when he arrived, but he settled in very quickly and had no problems making friends with our staff. He likes to cuddle with our volunteers who spend plenty of time with him every day. He would do best in a quiet home with a family who will show him patience as he settles in, shower him with attention, take him for walks and give him the cuddles and snuggles his lives for.

DOB: 01/08/2023

Willie - Male, Pit Bull/Australian Shepherd Mix

Willie is a 3 year old, neutered male, Pit Bull/Aussie mix. He's proven himself to be outgoing and affectionate, and ready to make friends with everyone he meets. He loves to explore the large play yards and will make a wonderful companion for someone who has a secure fence and the proper time to provide him attention and exercise. He seems curious about other dogs but will need a meet-and-greet to ensure he gets along with any existing companions!

DOB: 07/12/2022

Zayla - Female, Doberman/Heeler Mix

Zayla is looking for an active and loving home. With her striking appearance and intelligent eyes, she's a head-turner for sure. This smart girl already knows several commands and is eager to please. While she may be a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and is a friendly companion. Her protective nature makes her a loyal watchdog, but don't let her serious side fool you – she loves to play! Zayla enjoys long walks, exciting car rides, and tug-of-war battles. She does well with people of all ages and some other dogs (she hasn’t been around cats). The ideal home for Zayla will offer plenty of exercise, mental stimulation and lots of love.

DOB: 07/12/2023

Toby - Neutered Male, Australian Shepherd

Toby is looking for a special someone to help him shed some pounds and rediscover his playful spirit. He’s a gentle soul who enjoys people of all ages. He’s also a smart and loyal companion who will form a strong bond with his human. While he gets along with some dogs, a feline-free home might be best for him. To help Toby reach his ideal weight, he’ll need a patient and understanding owner who is committed to a gradual exercise plan and a healthy diet. Short walks, play time in water and gentle play sessions during the cooler parts of the day are a great starting point.

DOB: 06/28/2016

Munich - Male, Shepherd/Lab Mix

Munich is a playful who loves to run, jump and explore. While he’s friendly and outgoing, he can be a little shy when meeting new people, so he'll need a patient and understanding family to help him blossom. Munich is already learning the ropes and knows the “sit” command. He’s eager to please and is sure to pick up new tricks in no time. He enjoys going for walks and playing fetch. He does well with people of all ages and other dogs. He hasn’t been around cats but given his young age, he might do okay in the same home with one assuming they are properly introduced and have good oversight while they get to know each other. As a young puppy, Munich will require plenty of supervision and training, but the rewards will be endless.

DOB: 03/10/2024

Berlin - Female, Shepherd/Lab Mix

She's friendly and outgoing, making her a great companion for people of all ages. She does okay with most other dogs but hasn’t been around cats. She’s a quick learner and already knows a few commands - showing great promise for future training. Like most puppies, she needs a patient, attentive and loving family in a home where she can learn and grow. Berlin loves exploring the world, especially when it involves splashing in water or chasing after a ball.

DOB: 03/10/2024

Snoopy B - Neutered Male, Miniature Schnauzer

Snoopy B came to the shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. He's a happy and loyal boy who loves to cuddle next to his people on the couch. He knows a few commands and shows potential for learning more. He is active and tends to be a bit nervous around other animals and people he doesn’t know. Snoopy B is still learning about the world, so he'd do best in a calm home with adults who have experience with dogs and be mindful of his nervous cues. He would also prefer to be an only pet. He might be a little anxious at first, so a patient and understanding family is important. While he loves his people, he doesn't like to be picked up - gentle cuddles are best for this special boy.
