Adoptable Cats

Chief - Neutered Male, Gray DSH

Chief was found as a stray and taken in by a kind family. He wasn't a great fit with the family's other cats and they felt it was better to send him off on a new journey to find the perfect home. He can seem shy at first but he's quick to show how sweet he can be. He enjoys being pet and would love nothing more than a family who will spend a lot of time with him. He's about a year old and like most young kitties, Chief can be a little curious and will need a secure home to ensure he doesn't wander off.

DOB: 4/21/2021

Lucky - Neutered Male, Brown Tabby DSH

Lucky came to the shelter because he wasn't doing well at his last home. He had been adopted from Metro a couple months ago but just wasn't acclimating to his new surroundings. He was scared of the dog and stayed hidden and the other pets in the household didn't treat him very well. His owner wanted him to have a home where he could feel comfortable and safe and brought him to us. He's a nice, laid back boy who minds his own business. He's doing okay with the other cats in his room, but it might be best if he went to a home where he could be an only pet (or at least be with another non-aggressive cat who will accept him and let him share their space).

DOB: 10/12/2019

Libby - Spayed Female, Gray Tabby DSH

Libby initially came to the shelter because her owner could no longer keep her. When she was a kitten, she was found outside in the elements and didn't come with the best social skills. She was very shy and it took time for her to settle in. She started coming out of her shell and became more comfortable moving around her room and letting people talk to her. Libby has started being more affectionate with your patient and committed volunteers.  She just needs someone to spend some time getting to know her.

DOB: 10/2/2021

Coco - Neutered Male, White & Brown DSH

Coco is a low-key feline companion with a touch of quiet charm. He’s not demanding when it comes to attention, but he enjoys human company and is comfortable approaching people. He has an independent spirit and appreciates his alone time. He doesn't require constant entertainment and is content to entertain himself with solo playtime or watching the world go by. Coco tolerates the other cats in his room, preferring to mind his own business and live peacefully alongside them. This adaptability suggests he could potentially adjust to a home with another calm cat. He’s been with us a year now and is comfortable with his surroundings but he longs for a loving family to call his own. He has a chronic runny eye that doesn't seem to bother him but will need to be monitored as he moves through life. Coco isn't a high-maintenance cuddle monster, but he still enjoys human interaction and will make a great companion for someone who would prefer a kitty to hang out with who won’t be demanding a lot of lap time.

DOB: 05/28/2018

Charlotte - Spayed Female, Black DSH

Charlotte is a petite girl who does not do well with other cats. She can be very vocal when she is unhappy or scared. It will take her some time to settle in to a new home and adapt to a new family. But once she does, she's a great kitty. She likes being pet and can be a bit playful when the mood strikes her. Charlotte would do best as an only pet.

DOB: 11/10/2015

Odin - Neutered Male, Black DS

Odin came to us in October, 2021 and he had some trouble adjusting to shelter life. Thanks to a dedicated volunteer, Odin really blossomed. He became more comfortable moving around his room and interacting with people. He has become a supportive and faithful friend to the other cats in his room and can often be found cuddled up with one of them. He was recently adopted but had a very difficult time adjusting to his new environment and he came back to us. He has since settled in and is back to his usual routine. We would love for someone to adopt Odin - and maybe one of his friends, too. But we should note that anyone interested in adopting him must come and spend a lot of time with him before taking him home. And they must be very patient with him and allow him plenty of time to adjust to his new home.

DOB: 12/15/2019

Krickett - Neutered Male, Buff DSH

Krickett was a foster but another cat in the household was not accepting of him, so he was brought to us. He was not in the least bit happy when he first arrived here and would hiss at everyone. But once he got settled in and started sharing a room with other cats, he relaxed and is doing well. He's still a bit on the timid side, but he's pretty accepting of attention if it's given in a calm manner. He can usually be found relaxing in a comfy spot and watching the activity around him. Krickett would probably do best in a quiet home with a family who will give him plenty of time to settle in and get comfortable with his surroundings.

DOB: 04/3/2022

Gorda - Spayed Female, Tabby/Torti Mix DSH

Gorda started hanging around a home that wasn't hers. Her family was nowhere to be found and she was brought to us. She's an easygoing girl who can usually be found kicking back in her condo, watching the comings and goings in our lobby. She's comfortable stepping up to get her ears and head scratched but isn't very enthusiastic about being handled. She prefers to decide when and where she should move. Given that, we suggest Gorda go to a family who can read her cues and let her go with the flow.

DOB: 7/08/2018

Cupid - Spayed Female, Tabby & White DSH

Cupid was a transfer from a local cat cafe. She's independent and can be rather stubborn at times. She adores attention - if it's on her terms. She has quite a fondness for cheddar cheese and once she's been given a piece or two she becomes a friend for life. Cupid came to the shelter with her mirror-image sister Angel but after arriving she became shy and withdrawn. When they were separated, she blossomed and became more comfortable moving around the room. She enjoys sitting outside on the shelter catio. Cupid is comfortable being around other cats but she might do best as an only pet and with a family who can respect her independence, be mindful of her cues and just let her be herself.

DOB: 07/01/2022

Fiona - Spayed Female, Special Needs, Siamese Mix DSH

Fiona started out in life as a feral kitten. But she found a loving home and blossomed into a mellow house pet. Sadly, her human companion passed away, and while his family wanted to keep her, allergies made it impossible. Now, she seeks a peaceful sanctuary where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love and understanding. Years of indoor life have instilled in Fiona a calm and gentle demeanor. The great outdoors hold little appeal. She's content exploring the wonders of her home, napping in comfy corners and being a proper princess. Like any senior cat, she requires special attention. She is diabetic and requires insulin shots to stay healthy. A weight management plan and regular checkups are crucial for her well-being. Fiona thrives in calm environments. Homes with loud noises, active children, or other pets might not be the best fit for her.

DOB: 3/23/11

Spock - Neutered Male, Black & White DSH

This is Spock. He's a shy, reserved boy who was born to a feral mom who didn't instill in him the greatest social skills. He's not one to explore strange new worlds, seek out new civilizations or go where no man has gone before - but he is open to settling into a quiet home with someone who will encourage him to come out of his shell and show the world what a sweet loving friend he can be. He's a nice kitty who has the endearing habit of flattening his ears when he's nervous - giving him a rather alien appearance. But when he's relaxed, he can be found curled up in a quiet corner keeping a watchful eye on things. Spock would do best in a home where he could be the only pet or possibly with another cat who will respect his space.

DOB: 1/19/2023

Coal - Neutered Male, Black DSH

This isn't your average house panther – this is Coal, a 2-and-a-half-year-old king determined to rule his kingdom. He’s friendly, outgoing and thrives on attention and making new human friends. He'll greet people at the door eager for pets and tasty treats. He is a cheese connoisseur. A couple pieces of cheddar and you’ll have his heart in a flash. Coal is confident and sometimes bossy. He can be a bit "persuasive" when other cats get in his space while he’s enjoying his cheese. But he generally does quite well with the other kitties in his room and should do well sharing a home with another cat. Coal hasn't met any potential canine companions yet and will need to be dog-tested if sharing a home with a dog is in his future.

DOB: 2/19/21

Disco - Male, White & Brown Tabby DSH

Disco is a sweet kitty who found himself in a backyard that didn’t belong to him. The family who found him searched for his owners but had no luck. He had a few minor injuries when he arrived here but they’ve healed nicely and he’s back to being his sparkly self. He has a very nice disposition and readily warms up to new people. He can be a bit of a talker and loves being pet. We don’t know if Disco has experience being around dogs and will need to be dog-tested if it's likely he will share a home with one.

DOB: 5/17/22

Queenie - Spayed Female, Gray & White DSH

Queenie was a young feral kitty a couple years ago when she was taken in by someone who could see her potential. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible for her to be kept for the long term. Her rescuer worked with her until Queenie showed her willingness to be an accommodating and loving companion and then brought her to us. She was adopted into a great home but it turned out a family member was allergic to her and she was returned to us. She's still a shy girl who hides when feeling insecure. But once she develops trust with certain people she will allow herself to be pet and can be a very sweet girl. She would benefit from having a safe hiding spot in her new home and plenty of time to settle in. Queenie doesn't mind being around other cats and might benefit from having a confident feline companion to show her the ropes.

DOB: 12/28/19

Sebastian - Neutered Male, Black DMH

If you’ve been searching for a sleek and sassy feline companion, you need to meet Sebastian. This independent cat came to us as a stray and has been patiently waiting for someone to come whisk him away to his new forever home. Sebastian is friendly but feisty – he enjoys human company on his own terms. He's a playful fellow with a funny side. He has a very independent spirit and isn't a fan of constant attention. He tolerates other cats as long as they respect his boundaries. Sebastian's playful taps can turn into unintentional swats, so a home without young children is ideal. We haven't observed Sebastian with dogs – so, he will need to be dog-tested if a canine brother or sister is in his future.

DOB: 3/11/22

Amelia - Spayed Female, Brown & White Tabby DLH

Amelia came to the shelter because her owner's work schedule didn't allow him to give her the time and attention she deserved. She's very friendly, quick to make friends, doesn't mind being picked up and cuddled and is an incredible bug chaser. (Spiders don't phase her in the least.) She's also a playful girl who likes kitty toys and climbing around on cat towers. Amelia is looking for a family who will give her plenty of attention and spoil her rotten.

DOB: 6/6/23

Ponyboy - Neutered Male, Gold & White DSH

Ponyboy is a mellow, longhaired Manx. He previously lived with other cats, but unfortunately, they didn't share his easygoing nature and his owner brought him to us and asked that we find him a loving home where he can be the center of attention. Ponyboy would do best in a calmer environment. He does well with people of all ages and other felines who respect his personal space. He hasn’t been around dogs. He loves cuddles and chin scratches, relaxing sessions being brushed and playtime with little mouse toys. He would prefer a quiet, drama-free household and a family who will shower him with love and affection.

DOB: 6/6/21

Sparrow - Female, Tabby & White DSH

Sparrow is one-half of an awesome mother/daughter duo. She's a sweet but shy, well-behaved girl who does fine with people of all ages, other cats and some dogs. Sparrow is a little more cautious than her mom and tends to follow her lead. She prefers to love on her own terms. She and her mom Stowe (see below) came to the shelter because of a family member's allergies, and ideally, they'd love to find a forever home together!

DOB: 12/9/2023

Stowe - Female, Torti & White DSH

Stowe is part of an awesome mother/daughter duo. She's a friendly, outgoing and well-behaved girl who loves people of all ages and gets along with other cats and some dogs. She's a real sweetheart and can be quite affectionate and curious. She enjoys playtime and can't resist any toy with bells. She and her daughter Sparrow (see above) came to the shelter because of a family member's allergies, and ideally, they'd love to find a forever home together!

DOB: 6/20/21

Trident - Male, Black DSH

Trident was born right here at the shelter. He's the last of his litter to be adopted. We believe his black coat might be overshadowing his amazing character. He isn’t moody, spooky or standoffish at all. He has a personality that shines as bright as the sun! He’s friendly, curious, and playful, with a purr that could melt even the coldest heart. He's a true cuddlebug who loves nothing more than to curl up in a lap and purr the day away. It's time for this special little guy to find a loving family who will spoil him rotten and give him the love and attention he craves.

DOB: 4/19/24

Judah - Neutered Male, Orange Tabby DSH

Judah is a sweet, 6-year-old orange Tabby who just wants a quiet place to relax. He used to be the center of attention in his previous home, but with a new baby around, he was feeling a little overwhelmed and not doing well. He's looking for a home with grown-ups who will give him lots of love and attention. He likes to hang out and be lazy, and he gets along great with other calm cats. He enjoys being pet and doesn’t mind being picked up (but would prefer to keep all four feet on the ground if he had his druthers). Judah is a very nice kitty who will make a great feline companion for a family seeking an easy-going, older (but not senior) kitty.
