Casey Township Library Board

February 5, 2026 – Meeting Minutes

Attendance:  Karen Bradford, Shelley Crouch, Susie Mathews, Chrissy Squires, Librarian Gretchen Murphy

I.  Call to Order by President Mathews, 5:03 pm

II. The Consent Agenda.

• December 18, 2025 Financial & Activity Reports

• December 18, 2025 Minutes 

• Checks signed to pay bills

Motion by Crouch and seconded by Squires, motion carried

III. The Consent Agenda.

1. Friends of the Library Update, Librarian Murphy

•  Daughhetee scheduled a meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 5:00 pm.  All board members and FCTL members encouraged to attend

2. Imagination Library, Librarian Murphy

• Count of 95 had been enrolled, recently 8 had graduated out when turning 5 years old.  Current total is 88 active enrollments.

3. Programs and Upcoming Events, Librarian Murphy

• Summer Reading program theme: “Plant a Seed, Read”

• Leslie Duniphan of Simple Blessings is sponsoring the book, “Plant Seeds” for the June Story Walk

4.   Building Expansion Discussion, Librarian Murphy

• We were notified by Cordogan that the library is responsible for charges encurred by recent upgraded prints we’d requested, $8,116.88 billing was paid.

5. IHLS Letter/Reminder to submit annual Filing 

•  Board will receive the form via email from the Clark Co Court house for electronic filing.

6.  Review Serving Our Public

•  Consider joining the IHLS (Illinois Heartland Library System) as a member of the Boad of Director to help amplify Public Service with leadership skills
