The Carver Blue Knights conduct numerous Adventure Skills Training events throughout the year. These training events include:
Blue Knights JROTC Cadets conduct rappelling training up to three times a school year. Using towers from 30 feet to 45 feet, students are tested on their ability to overcome fear, focus on the mission, and have fun.
Blue Knights JROTC Cadets conduct obstacle course training up to three times a school year. Cadets train on building their confidence, team building, and physical fitness/endurance capabilities.
Blue Knights JROTC Cadets conduct leadership development, problem solving, and team building through a scenario driven course designed to test students capabilities.
Blue Knights JROTC Cadets conduct kayaking twice a year in the Chesapeake Bay by Fort McHenry. Students conduct a history talk by a National Park Service ranger, environmental activities in the on-site wetlands with the National Aquarium staff, and an on-water tour of the wetlands and Fort McHenry in tandem kayaks.
Blue Knights JROTC Cadets conduct 5K Fun Run and Orienteering events throughout the school year. These events are intended to reinforce the components of health taught in the classroom. Additionally, the events give the students an opportunity to interact with students from other programs/schools and increase battalion esprit de corps.
