How does in-home mobile cat grooming work?
Well, we're like the feline spa-on-wheels, but without the wheels part! We bring the spa experience right to your doorstep because we know cats aren't the biggest fans of road trips, especially when they involve a suspicious-looking van. Instead of disrupting Kitty's zen with a trip to the unknown, we work our magic right in their own territory - your home.
Why do you prefer to work in the cat's home?
Cats are creatures of comfort, and we're all about keeping them happy. We know they're the rulers of their domain, so why make them leave? Plus, it's like having a spa day in your own castle. And if you're chill, we're chill. Feel free to hang out while we pamper your furball (in fact, for your first few visits, we insist that you're inside the home with us)- we might even put you to work with some kitty soothing techniques!
Do we need to be there?
Yes, please. At least until we're all comfortable and on the same page about your cat's needs. We find too many misunderstandings can happen during this time, and we want to impress you, not disappoint you. If you're there to answer any of our groomers' questions, we are most likely to give you our best work.
What do I need to provide?
We bring the works, but we're not fussy. Just a couple of towels per kitty and a washcloth, and a clean sink or tub for your kitty's bath. Oh, and a calm atmosphere. If your home's rocking some major changes or high energy, we might need to reschedule for a more serene vibe. Cats are like zen masters, they don't dig disruptions.
What if someone in my home is sick?
If anyone in your home is sick — fever, flu, stomach bugs, or anything contagious — please let us know so we can reschedule. We work inside your space and move between rooms, and even brief exposure can take us out of work for days. Since we groom for many seniors and immunocompromised clients, staying healthy is a big part of keeping everyone’s cats on their regular schedule.
There’s no fee to reschedule for illness. Just give us a heads‑up, and we’ll pick a new day when everyone’s feeling better and we can focus on what we’re actually there for: giving your cat a calm, low‑stress spa day.
How long does it take?
Our "Full Monty" treatment takes around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your kitty's level of fluffiness or age. We're in and out faster than a cat chasing a mouse!
What areas do you serve?
We're headquartered in New Braunfels, but we spread the love to cats (and other critters) in the greater Austin/San Antonio area. Even if you're a bit outside our usual stomping grounds, give us a shout - we might just stretch our paws a little further for you!
Do you trim my cat’s nails during grooming?
Yes! Every cat we meet receives a nail trim as part of their grooming session. Even if it’s not listed in the service description, nail trimming is always included to keep your cat, our groomers, and you safe.
Does my cat need to be vaccinated before grooming?
Rabies vaccination isn’t just our policy — it’s the law. Texas requires all cats and dogs over 4 months of age to be vaccinated against rabies. This protects pets, families, and our grooming team.
Cat grooming is a wonderful but risky job. We love what we do, but it does expose us to bites and scratches. While most are minor, rabies is a serious disease — and vaccination is the safeguard that keeps everyone safe.
If a cat who is not current on their rabies vaccination bites someone and the injury requires medical treatment, Texas law allows animal control to place that cat into a mandatory rabies quarantine. It’s stressful for the cat, upsetting for the family, and the owner is responsible for the cost of the quarantine. Keeping your kitty’s rabies vaccine up to date helps avoid this scary situation for everyone involved.
Don’t cats hate water?
Oh, they're not the biggest fans, but we're cat whisperers. We've got tricks up our sleeves to make bath time a breeze. It's like convincing a teenager to tidy up their room - there might be some drama, maybe even some name calling, but we'll get there. And if your kitty's not feeling it, we can tell, and we'll respect their boundaries faster than you can say "meow."
How do we pay? And what about tips?
We’re flexible — we take all major credit cards (except Amex), debit cards, and cold hard cash. And yes, we accept tips (cash is king) with purrs of gratitude!
A tiny housekeeping note: Invoices are due within 3 days. After that, a $25 late fee is added, and weekly thereafter. We really appreciate timely payment — it keeps our groomers paid, our cats pampered, and our schedule running smoothly.
How do I schedule?
Easy peasy - First, read through and agree to our policies. Next, fill out your New Kitty Clint Form, and if you like just shoot a message to Hair Traffic Control (HTC) at (210) 446-7024, or drop us an email at carolynsmobilecatgrooming@gmail.com. Otherwise, we'll get you back to you and on the schedule faster than a cat chasing a laser pointer!
Do I need to medicate my cat?
We prefer not to - we'll assess your kitty and work our magic without meds if we can. But hey, if your feline friend needs a little help staying zen, we'll work with you and your vet to find the perfect solution.
Emergencies
We've got you covered for hair-related crises and some first-aid situations. If Kitty's in a sticky situation, just give us a call - we'll handle it like the pros we are! However, we are not veterinarians and cannot assist with any kind of illness or trauma.
Why do you ask about rabies vaccination?
Rabies vaccination isn’t just our policy — it’s the law. Texas requires all cats and dogs over 4 months of age to be vaccinated against rabies. This protects pets, families, and our grooming team. Cat grooming is a wonderful but risky job. We love what we do, but it does expose us to bites and scratches. While most are minor, rabies is a serious disease — and vaccination is the safeguard that keeps everyone safe.
Health
Your furball's wellbeing is our top priority. We'll keep an eye out for anything unusual and recommend all the necessary health precautions. After all, a healthy cat is a happy cat!
Gratuity
We appreciate any tips you'd like to throw our way, but they're as optional as a cat nap in the sun. Cash and Cashapp are our favorite ways to receive gratuity, but our Point-of-Sale system also has a tipping option. Just ask your groomer, and they can provide you their tipping options
