Time series analysis of historical aerial photographs was performed to detect spatiotemporal land use-land cover changes over three different areas: Passo Brocon, San Rossore and San Venanzo. 

A continuous increase in forest cover at a varying rate was observed over the last seven decades considered in the time series analysis of changes in the San Rossore and San Venanzo study sites (i.e. 1954 to 2023/2024).
