The proposed project area above is from the Village of Pleasant Prairie 2021 budget documents. The project does not affect all of Carol Beach, just the northern end, from the lake to the tracks. This survey is intended to reach those who would be directly affected by this project. If you live within the boundaries above and have not taken the survey, please do so.
The Village of Pleasant Prairie is planning to repair 2nd and 3rd Avenues in 2022 and 2023 and to build a storm sewer system in the project area shown to the left. If a storm sewer system is built, the Village will charge the owner of every lot in the project area a special assessment of $4,000 to $10,000 (estimated) per lot.
To construct a storm sewer system it is usually necessary to cut down trees and create swales and drainage areas in the right of way. Please note, this project is only for storm water and does not include sanitary sewers.
The Carol Beach Property Owners Association is currently working with the Village to determine if there are smaller, less expensive, more localized solutions to minimize storm water issues while at the same time protecting the Village’s investment in new streets.
If you own property within the Project Area shown on the map to the left, please tell us what you think and how you would like us to proceed by taking a moment to answer this short survey. Answers are completely confidential and no identifiers will be shared with the Village.
