Prairie Shores is the official name of the public beach on Lakeshore Drive from 107th to 113th Street.
On March 2, 2021 the Pleasant Prairie Park Commission passed a resolution to accept a report developed by the engineering firm Clark Dietz. The report addresses the erosion of the beach and may be used by the Village as a framework for engineering design considerations and ultimately construction of a dune system, preparation of habitat for introduction of native plants, and placement of a system of barriers and/or treatments that will have the effect of reducing wave action to the shoreline and assist with shoreline and habitat restoration.
