Here's my little workspace on the road!
Desk parts & tools:
Swivel seats - $300
Promaster Lowered Seat Base Pedestal for Sportscraft Seat Swivels - $597 for two
Lagun Adjustable RV Table Mounting System - $164 - looks like the online web store where I bought this is no longer in business, but these can be found at lagunusa.com (their site opens with a note that they are NOT sold on Amazon)
Front seat organizer - $37
Lumbar pillow - $54 for two
Laptop stand - $60
"Tripod" laptop stand - $59
Total cost = $1,957 + sweat equity
I had swivel seats installed so that I can turn the passenger seat around facing the cargo area. With a lumbar pillow it's very comfortable! As I've discussed already in the Lighting and House Sound System sections, I wasn't initially planning on spending so much time in the cab area so I didn't think about including lights or speakers there. Since there's a small divider between the cab area and the living space of the van, the lighting and TV audio wasn't ideal. After my first trip I addressed this by adding some additional desk lighting and coming up with an alternative for TV audio.
Here's the WeBoost antenna. It works pretty good! It amplifies existing cell service with whichever provider you already have. In areas where you would normally only have a bar or two, it keeps calls and internet service from dropping off.
There's only a few places, usually in remote national parks, where I have not been able to get any service at all.
I have an unlimited data plan with a MiFi from Calyx which works most of the time, otherwise I use my phone's hotspot.
If you spend any time browsing van build sites you will almost certainly come across the very popular Lagun Table mount. They were primarily designed for boats and RVs, but have become a staple in camper vans, and for good reason. I love this thing!
Because of its placement on my foot-rest, I needed the Lagun Table to be mounted higher than the standard leg would allow, so I upgraded to the longer leg which they offer as an option.
I had a hard time figuring out what type of wood to use as my tabletop/desktop, so when I saw this pre-made laminate version available that matched my color scheme, I jumped on it.
I wanted to have a nice standing desk setup in my van, but what I've found so far is that I haven't used it that much. Since there is some assembly/setup required I'm unlikely to use it unless I'm posted up in one spot for a while. I can either put this laptop stand on top of my Lagun desk or use this "tripod" laptop stand. A standing desk is not tolerable for any period of time without a standing desk anti-fatigue mat, though, so I keep it stashed in the 'garage' just in case.
I talked about this more in detail in the Lighting section already, but the desk lighting was a little lacking in v.1 of my build, so I tried a few different options and ended up going with this $12 string of LEDs. So my desk area is well-lit now.
Below are some shots of my desk being put to good use. (I'm no gourmet chef, but it works.)

Jeff the handyman threw together this little bookshelf so I can take my books with me on the road
It fits just perfectly in the headliner space above the driver's seat/desk area.
While I'm sitting at my desk/table eating dinner or browsing the 'net, it's nice to be able to turn on the TV!
