What is CAW?

CAW stands for College Application Week. College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) host an annual campaign to support college access during the month of October called the NC Countdown to College. They provide support for many of the important steps of the college process. CAW is one way that they are supporting student's successful completion of applications. During CAW many NC universities and colleges waive their application fees.

Simply put: CAW = Free Application Week*

When is CAW?

October 17th-21st, 2022

*must apply to college through CFNC

1. Go to CFNC.org and create an account if you do not already have one (be sure to use a personal email!)

2. Once logged in go to “Apply to College”

3. Then “Application Hub”

4. Then “Start An Application” and search for the school you are looking to apply to (be sure to fill out the undergraduate/freshman application)

5. Fill out the application and submit! Be sure to save frequently

6. Refresh CFNC page and hit the “Request Transcript” button once you have submitted the application.

7. RDS/Residency Step needs to be completed before you can submit (refer to "RDS" tab for more information)

8. Supplemental materials (letters of recommendation or essays for example must be turned in separately). Typically can email to admissions office.
