The Cardinal Booster Club (CBC) exists to advance cocurricular opportunities for the students of John Paul II High School. This support extends across both JPII's Athletics and Fine Arts organizations. The booster club actively partners with school administration, faculty and coaches across 20+ member organizations to ensure students are supported with the resources they need to excel.
In addition to managing funds associated with student participation fees, CBC supports the JPIIHS community through financial assistance. Some of the assistance CBC has supported over the past 2 years (2022-2024) include:
Purchase of a new wireless scoreboard controller for the small gymnasium
Purchase of material supporting maintenance of our turf fields in the Stadium and East Sports Complex
Purchase of display furnishings supporting a DFW wide art competition scheduled for spring 2024
Purchase of replacement equipment supporting concessions commercial food equipment
Purchase of new Normatec compression therapy equipment supporting athlete wellness and recovery.
Underwriting for HUDL video analytics supporting many athletic sports.
Financial assistance for JPIIHS events like the Balint Cup, Gala and Christmas Purse
The Cardinal Booster Club leadership is organized around an executive board and representatives for each member club. A club can be an athletic team like girl's basketball or a fine art organization like the school band. Each of these organizations selects a booster club representative who represents the needs of the organization and administers booster club funds collected through parent paid student fees.
The CBC executive board is comprised of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and up to three Trustees. This executive board works closely with club representatives and school administration to ensure the needs of each member club are met in accordance with school and CBC policies.
General members also exist and benefit from the ability to participate in CBC Board Meetings and other events.
The CBC Executive Board oversees the following booster activities:
The CBC administers funds collected from student participation fees. Put simply, CBC ensures that there's money is in a club's budget to cover an expense and ensures reimbursement requests are for a valid expense and are processed quickly. Through the Executive Board and member representatives, CBC ensures that parent contributed funds are spent in a responsible manner that conforms with club and JPIIHS policies.
How are these funds managed?
These funds are maintained in a club specific account and are available for each club to utilize for approved purposes. The most common use of Club specific CBC funds is for practice apparel, team meals and end of season banquets. Funds may also be disbursed for value added "extras", like goodie bags or senior banners, which enrich the student's experience. Each club representative plays a vital role setting club fees and ensuring parent contributed funds are used for approved purposes.

The booster club continually looks for opportunities to raise funds that can be used to strengthen cocurricular programs across the school. CBC manages a general account frequently, sometimes referred to as "big booster", which is used to fund events throughout the year and whenever possible support the purchase of goods or services when unplanned needs arise. The primary source of revenue for CBC is the All Sports Pass with a lesser amount of revenue generated from spirit sales and special events.
John Paul II has three on campus concession venues. While these venues are not managed directly by the CBC, Cardinal Booster administers the budget for most concession operations. This include the purchase of goods (food & drink) that are sold through concessions and the repair and replacement of much of the food service equipment used in each concession venue.
The CBC uses a portion of its general fund to help provide "extras" that are not typically budgeted for by the school. These items include small capital improvements on campus like scoreboard equipment, underwriting of a portion of the cost of state champion rings for students, or helping to fund JPII events like the annual school gala.
