Welcome! My name is Mrs. Pollington and I am the Librarian at Captain Gray Elementary. Mrs. Gutierrez works in the library as well and we are very excited to have your child at Captain Gray STEM Elementary this school year. Our goal is for children to become independent readers who actively pursue information and ideas along with having some fun!

Your child will be bringing home books from our school library. We have discussed guidelines for library book use.

* Finding a special place to keep your library book, so it does not get lost.

* Protecting your library book from pets, younger brothers and/or sisters, and the weather.

* Letting the librarian repair damaged or torn pages in a library book

* It is important for your child to return their books when they are due the day they visit the library, so he/she may takeout another.

Throughout the year all classes will be introduced to the various sections of the library including our Makerspace. MakerSpace is a place where children create, learn and play. It is a place that encourages collaboration and helps children develop a STEM identity.
