Cantantes in Cordibus
CANTANTES IN CORDIBUS is looking for new members!
Cantantes In Cordibus (Latin for “singing from the heart”) performs every Sunday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 75 Claremont Avenue in Jersey City.
The choir was formed in 2002 by volunteers of the Latin Mass Community of Jersey City to regularly provide full polyphonic Masses from the Renaissance to the Classical era. It consists of a full choir, a schola cantorum, and an orchestra accompaniment for the main solemnities of Easter and Christmas.
Cantantes In Cordibus covers an extensive repertoire that includes Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony, as well as works by great Baroque and Classical composers. The choir is available to sing for nuptial masses, requiem masses, and other special liturgical celebrations.
In 2012, Cantantes In Cordibus, Inc. was established as a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation to cultivate and promote the performance of Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical choral music by the world’s greatest composers.
