Born in Ferrara (Italy), Simone Ferraresi has performed as a concert pianist at many important venues in Europe and the U.S., including a debut recital at Carnegie's Weill Hall in New York in 2007. Winner of several piano competitions, in 1995 he was a semi-finalist in the Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland, one of the most prestigious piano competitions. He earned his degrees in piano and composition with the highest honours at the Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara; at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, where he specialized in the interpretation of classical composers with Paul Badura-Skoda; and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he was awarded the Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music, as well as three special prizes for the best performance in the final recital. Simone Ferraresi studied choral conducting with Harold Rosenbaum in the U.S., and with Dario Tabbia in Italy.
