It is understood that the Canadian Army had little requirement for motorcycles. But in 1977, they purchased 75 machines. Frame number starting 7861.
This model featured blackout lights, side reflectors (presumably for North American traffic regulations). A more complex rear rack for attaching a portable radio. A plastic petrol tank, short 2-stroke oil filler tube (like those on civi frames) on the frame and only a speedo (no tacho). The small 'lunch box' rack behind the seat, has also been seen on the SAS trial bikes in the UK. Two examples of this rack are known to be in existance amoungst other owners, within the UK.
The Canadians also replaced the Can-Am with the MT500 Armstrong. Again, unknown numbers were produced, but we believe figures to be in the low hundreds.
