Why is it so hard to get my pet in for an appointment?
Cañada Hills Animal Hospital is a single-doctor private practice. With only one doctor on board, we can only do as much as a single doctor can do. Because we are a smaller practice our staff is smaller compared to a larger practice. Depending on our staffing that day, we may not have the people in clinic that can relieve some of the load that is sometimes faced. Yet, your pet still is our priority. For this reason, we do our best to get your pet in as soon as possible. If needed we will make a cancellation list and call clients in order of that list. We are doing everything we can to get your pet seen, in return, we ask that our clients remain patient and understanding with our staff given these circumstances. Please treat our staff with kindness and respect as they also wish to get your pet seen as soon as possible and will work with you to find the best solution.
Why is it so hard to get my pet's prescription diet?
COVID-19 has impacted the veterinary field greatly, especially food distributors such as Hill's and Royal Canin. Since there is a rise in diagnoses being made, there has also been more demand for prescription diets that help with GI, Urinary, Kidney and Allergy issues just to name a few. Due to this sudden increase, both Hill's and Royal Canin are facing their own challenges meeting that demand. As a result, they have had to discontinue some of their products in order to supply the ingredients for more important specialty diets. This has made it difficult for us to keep certain diets in stock, but we are doing what we can to find alternatives. If you are also having a hard time purchasing your pets regular or recommended prescription diet, let us know and we can try to find the next best alternative.
