Standard and Narrow Gauge HO Layout For Sale
The Beaver Creek and Platte Valley Railroad is looking for a new home, so its current owner may look for a smaller home.
The layout is all DCC (LENZ) and switches back to standard DC operations. The upper level is all handlaid HOn3, with a few commercial turnouts. It is completely scenicked except for some trees near the sawmill, and is designed for an out-and-back operation, or can be switched to continuous running.
The layout features many vignettes:
A very prosperous “Red Light” district
The town drunk’s “sleeping quarters” behind the tavern
Several passengers waiting for the BC&PV Local
Workers repairing the (scratchbuilt) water tower
Painters finishing a new paint job on the Court House walk over
The upper level can be disassembled / cut into about 8 pieces, with the longest section 2’ x 12’.
The lower level is HO/HOn3, and is designed for continuous operation. Like the upper level, most of the buildings are lighted. The bottom level consists primarily of two peninsulas on 4’x8’ plywood, which can be divided into 8 pieces. One end contains the town with outside and inside loops and a separate trolley loop, while the other end contains the turntable, roundhouse, and locomotive facilities.
The layout includes over 90 structures (most scratchbuilt and almost all lighted), the DCC and DC equipment, track and benchwork.
