My Topic: 3-D Bioprinting of Organs
Project Description
This project explored an emerging technology that has the potential to transform modern healthcare. The goal was to research 3D bioprinting of organs and present how this innovation could impact medicine within the next 5–10 years while practicing professional research and presentation skills.
Topic & Why I Chose It
I chose 3D bioprinting organs because it directly addresses the global shortage of transplantable organs. The idea that living tissue can be printed using a patient’s own cells stood out to me as both scientifically advanced and deeply human, offering hope for longer, healthier lives.
One Interesting Thing I Learned
One of the most interesting things I learned was that bioprinted organs could significantly reduce organ rejection since they can be created using a patient’s own cells, unlike traditional transplants.
Project Artifact
Lesson Learned
This project strengthened my ability to break down complex medical technology into clear, understandable ideas. I learned how to use slide design and speaker notes effectively instead of overcrowding slides with text. Researching this topic also helped me better understand the ethical and technical challenges behind life-saving innovations. Overall, the project increased my confidence in presenting emerging technologies in a clear and engaging way.
