The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the only theatre honor society for middle and high schools in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of a theatre program. 

ITS recognizes and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school. 

ITS began in 1929 and is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. There are over 2 million Thespians who have been inducted into the honor society. A few famous ITS alumni include Tom Hanks, Dick Van Dyke, Kathy Bates, Kelly Clarkson and Stephen Schwartz. 

ITS-CAHS Troupe 8783 Membership Highlights:

• Award recognitions for various CAHS theater activities such as musical theatre, drama play, Improv Club, Tech & Stagecraft, ITS Festival..

• Nationally recognized and looks good on college aps &/or resume

• Earn ITS pins

• Earn High School Letter & Graduation cords

• Opportunity to attend &/or perform at the California State Thespian Festival.

• Participate in CAHS (Studio / PLC) Cast &/ Crew theater activities And

• Earned at least 10 points for membership induction. See ITS-CAHS Point Sheet.

• Give your point sheet to faculty Director (S. Farmer) via email or print out.

• ITS requires $35 one-time fee, good for all H.S. years. (link to be emailed shortly after director reviews point sheet)

• Meeting days to be determined by students and may also be attended by those working on induction points.
