The CAHS theatre department has year round activities for actors, singers, dancers and stage tech students, which aid our students in honing their skills. Our MUSICAL THEATRE, CHOIR, & DRAMA THEATRE departments perform several times a year & are creative groups that delights school assemblies, talent shows, competitions, and public performances. It is led by the Teacher Staff Directors along with students and adult volunteers. Scheduling is collaborated between the directors so students may participate in all three! We welcome others to join on these creative endeavors!
Musical Theatre offers an after school program (& may be taken for course credit) that rehearse at CAHS starting in December/January on Mondays, Tuesdays (leads only), Wednesdays and some Saturdays as we near show time. Shows are typically in April.
Auditions are open to all CAHS and CAO students at any skill level. For Vocal auditions students prepare & sing a 1 minute song choice that best matches their vocals and may depict the show style or character they're auditioning for. On Dance audition day everyone will learn and present a simple group dance. Callback days are invitational and will include show songs and script reading. (Not everyone is needed at callbacks, but may still be cast)
Join us for our award winning musical theatre production!

Choir rehearses on Mondays and some Wednesdays after school, and it can be taken for credit or extra-curricular. Students learn vocal technique, harmony, sight reading, self-confidence, and different styles of music. They participate in local choral competitions, field trips and performances, have opportunities for solos, and can receive help with college auditions. The rehearsal schedule works around musical theatre so singers can do both!
Auditions are open to all CAHS & CAO students and typically begin April during the prior school year. A fun boot camp kicks off the new school year typically the week before school starts.
