What Does it mean to Audition?
An Audition is a short trial performance where an actor, musician, dancer, or performer showcases their skills to prove their talent to receive a role, job, or spot in a show.
Common types of Auditions:
Prepared Audition: Preforming a pre rehearsed piece, such as a monologue or a song.
Cold Reading: Reading a script or text given just minutes before preformed.
Open Call: An audition where anyone is allowed to show up and try out, often with long lines.
Callback: A second, invite only audition for actors whom the director calls back.
