Using manuscripts and exploring Juan Bautista de Anza's expedition with resources and a lesson plan from the Huntington library.

The Columbian Exchange Lesson Plan: Cause and Effect lesson plan via Brainpop.

An exploration timeline: Could you and your class build a timeline of explorers and exploration of California? Could you use visuals you can find, art, or even your own drawings to make the timeline. You could use Google Presentations to create your timeline together or make a timeline from paper that might be posted around the room or in the library. Then, could you learn enough about each visual to take your family or another class or the school board on a tour of early California exploration? After its over, think about what you learned and how you learned it with your teacher and librarian who helped you.
