About Us

Ignite. We believe music, and a quality music education, should be accessible to everyone. Music education is a fundamental human right. We believe music opens doors, and every child should have the opportunity to make music. Through providing this opportunity, we have found that heightened participation in music brings a sense belonging, and a sense of pride.

Imagine. We see the imagination of young minds learning to adapt and to solve complex problems. We need to give our youth a place to expand cooperatively, and to experience success.

Inspire. We know music can be a vehicle to help create the visionaries of tomorrow, from all walks of life, to transform the lives of individuals and communities. Unlike any other organization in North America, our hard-working volunteers create unique cultural experiences to engage youth in our communities.

Who We Are

The Calgary Association for the Development of Music Education, CADME, has been changing lives through music since 2003. A not-for-profit organization created solely for enhancing the existing musical education programs in public schools, CADME is a completely volunteer-based group of passionate and dedicated individuals working to support the mandate of CADME. Our hard-working volunteers make it possible to have funding for unique opportunities for the students to participate in throughout the year.

CADME is here to help Calgary and area schools. CADME works to enhance and support school music programs to inspire students and teachers through workshops, concerts, masterclasses, and act as an accessible community resource for music education. Students have the opportunity to expand their creativity, self-expression, teamwork, self-esteem, as well as discover the tools necessary for academic success.

Since our inception, we have been able to bring some of the greatest musicians in the world to Calgary. Concerts, clinics, master classes happen throughout the school year.

One of CADME’s major project with the Village Vanguard Orchestra has been featured by CTVNews, The Calgary Herald, and Metro News.
