Please sign the petition urging Congress to fully fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). When IDEA passed in 1975, Congress committed to covering 40% of the additional cost of educating students with disabilities—but that promise has never been met. At San Diego Unified, IDEA currently covers only about 6% of special education costs -- the district spends $400M+ annually yet receives only $28M in IDEA funding.

The petition calls on Congress to pass the IDEA Full Funding Act and make good on their promise to support students with disabilities.
