Chairperson
Hi, I’m a mom, a community builder, and someone who knows firsthand how overwhelming and isolating the special education system can feel. I got involved because I believe families deserve better—more transparency, more support, and more voices at the table. I care deeply about this work, but I also believe in staying grounded. I laugh at my own missteps often (because there are plenty), and I try to approach advocacy with both determination and compassion. Through the CAC, I want to create space where families feel informed, connected, and genuinely seen.

Come find me in person at the meetings! I don't like checking my email ;P

Vice-Chairperson
Hi, I'm a Mom, former teacher, and former teaching coach in San Diego. Despite my educational background, I joined the CAC with a desperate need for help to navigate the special education system. I continued with the CAC because of the monthly parent trainings and the welcoming community. I have remained with the CAC because of the connections I have with other parents and members of the Department of Special Education. I am part of the conversation regarding special education in the SDUSD, and I am allowed to have a voice in driving change. In fact, any parent who shows up to a CAC meeting has the same opportunity. Join us!

I have been a special education teacher for 23 years, with 21 of those years serving in the San Diego Unified School District. For much of my career, I’ve focused on the Adult Transition school TRACE, helping young adults with disabilities gain the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive beyond high school. My passion for teaching grew from a belief that every student deserves the tools, support, and opportunities to succeed—no matter their challenges. Over the years, I’ve worked with incredible students and families, adapting to changes in education while staying committed to meeting each learner where they are. Whether in the classroom, out in the community, or collaborating with the Community Advisory Committee, my goal has always been to improve services for the students that our district serves.
