Animal Enrichment
Grade: K-12
Description:
Let your students become scientists as they learn about animal behavior and animal enrichment in zoos! As the highlight of the program, students learn how to make specific enrichment items for designated species of animals at the Buffalo Zoo. This two-session experience culminates with the opportunity to observe the animals' behavior as they interact with their enrichment!
Evolution and Environment
Grade: HS
Description:
The diversity of life on our planet is all thanks to evolution. We know what evolution is, but how does it work? Can evolution be impacted by humans? Join us as we discuss how changes in the environment can lead to natural selection of different traits, and how humans can be the cause of some of these changes. We will also meet some special animal guests to help us explore evolution in the environment. The Lee Richardson Zoo's Distance Learning Studio offers a multitude of environmental programs to students all over the nation. Our programs include 2-4 live animals. However, we are currently unable to give programs from actual exhibits around the zoo.
