if there are donations which we need to make to local politicians, so we need to do all these things before. Okay, donation, supposing we get a donation from local bodies, or a non local donor, because I think we can possibly get donations from a non non local donor, maybe, maybe sitting in Dubai, or whatever
such donations, how to handle
the receipt immediately go into the school account directly, right. I don't know the trustees to take a shot of that. So if you are able to secure donations from corporates, and let's say for example, or if you are able to do it from Dubai, that should go either into our own pocket,
pocket, I do not know we will see that origin going to the school pocket for us to run the school. So parent teacher meetings, Henceforth, who will attend these meetings, who will remember

So again, I'm repeating this is something which is important I need the Evergreen brand and the management team should be able to have the authority to use the brand whichever way it wants.

The main brand is our evergreen, but some brands are there in the form of Trustees founders for our marketing effort. So we should have full authority to use their names for 11 purposes. Just one small thing I know that I had

1. apart from deeply thinking about my own position, i have also consulted with my mom and rajani on my plan ahead - and just wanted to clearly list things for ur benefit.
2. from my perspective (being frank here, so pl put urself in my shoes)
negatives about project BDJ :
- it is the same as elakshya (ie everything from the start as a new enterprise, which is anyway what i have been trying to do at blr itself)
- relocation to vadakara, which will be inconvenient to family and to myself as well
- additional costs on personal basis for my travel, accomodation, commuting, others
- my mom's problems, given her health condition etc
-adjustment needed with the infra availability at BDJ etc
- no money in sight for the next few years(?) for the effort we put in at EG. Wrt EXPP, money in sight only based on what we do as a new enterprise
- things still fluid - how we structure our company, how we divide the expenses, revenues (if any), etc
- no clarity on formal aspects on EG as well, whether we do get the school contract etc etc
positives about BDJ
- akk can physically push / mentor me (something which i need badly, because i have been too unsucesful in blr)
- new environment away from family responsibilities, so maybe i succeed this time
- EG is already there, so for the 20%-30% of my work-day, my task is cut out and clear
- i anyway am doing nothing in blr, so what difference does it make
- big potential in north kerala region. of course this is questionable, because such a potential exists/ existed in blr as well, and i could do nothing about it for 12 years !
3. so, anyway i have decided to take the plunge and join the MT for project BDJ - which is for both EG and EXPP, so pl welcome me !
4. i will travel at one shot for 12-20 days per month for the first many months. let us see how it works out, so i have decided that i will not take up a house at bdj atleast as of now. if things look rosy in future, then of course i am willing to relocate. so let us keep this timeframe till dec-end.
i have tentatively charted my dates at vadakara here ( will be in bdj that morning, and leave the night of the date mentioned) -
- june 9 to 21 : 12 days
- july 8 to 22 - 14 days
- aug 5 to 11 - 6 days
- sept 9 to 15 - 6 days
- oct - 0 days
-nov - 4 to 23 - 19 days

[ reason for gaps in aug-oct is because of my travel to mumbai/dubai/delhi ]
of course, based on any contingency, either at BDJ or at blr, i can be slightly flexible on my tour days.
5. now coming to my job opportunity, job search etc. we can keep on talking about whether i have a chance to get a suitable job or not, and what the chances are. but supposing i do get a good job and therefore leave project BDJ, i will handover all my current status uptodate, to AKK, so that he can carry it forward with the remaining team. i will do my best to stay on as much time as possible, to do further final tasks for project BDJ.
6. About items that i can immediately provide for BDJ -
- 11 PCs with large flat-screen monitors - all in working condition with various configs. i checked them out 1 year back, but they will need some cleaning etc. so i can bring them to BDJ, unpack them and instal them at EG locations. it is my responsibility and my cost to get them up and running as per ur satisfaction
- sony projector, alongwith large 10 feet screen - same as above
- 2 wireless CCTV cameras - high end
- many extra cables and wires
- 20 pen-drives
- extra wireless mouse/keyboards
- 2 wifi routers
Am not able to think of more items, but i shall make an inventory and hand over in good working condition. after that, use of the items is responsibilty of EG team. i dont need any monetary renumeration for these things, SINCE I OWE A LOT LOT MORE TO AKK FOR HIS EARLIER MONETARY SUPPORT OF my elakshya.
7. i plan to come on june 9 in my scorpio, and plan to carry all these items. if akk feels that any of these items are not needed, pl inform, so that i will not take the trouble of loading them. otherwise he needs to plan the logistics of properly storing them and making space for them and alloting them across both the campuses in advance. also, i would need the help of a local bdj computer technician to help me out. but repeat - it is my monetary responsibilty to give you full working 11 PCs.
8. as for scorpio, pl decide if you really do need it there, and if it can be used/capacitised. i will not use it because i prefer scooter, but i also dont want it to lie there un-used. so just like we will be doing for the buses/jeep, we need to work out capacitisation schedules for all vehicles. and if u decide to keep it, i will charge from the school Rs 250 per day for its use, ie 7.5K per month. Vehicle is in top condition (new battery, wheels changed at 86 kms - it is now at 109K kms, full insurance is there etc)- but future repair work thereafter is EG's. of course all the payment can be done to me later ( even years) !
9. during the time i am in blr, i will be working on 3 things - a. personal work if any (but this will be very less, i assure u) b. work on getting my resume and connecting with people for job (but this will be only from aug1) c. work on project BDJ. i think division will be 20/20/60. but if it changes, i will let u know
10. So, for the time and effort that i will be putting in for BDJ, i expect suitable rewards. As i mentioned earlier, let us take it one step at a time, ie till Dec-end 2019 as first stage, and Jan 2020 onwards as second stage. Anyway, by Dec-end i will know whether i can possibly get a job or not somewhere. And there is also small possibility of point no 5 happening ( see above).
In any case, i wish to be compensated suitably for my work at BDJ.
Simple way - if there is surplus, the MT sits and decides how to share it. But this might lead to conflict, so we have to put some system here asap.
Complex way -
Till april 2019 - akk/shabbir/others have worked for EG
May 2019-akk/shabbir/sats/others worked for EG in some proportion
June 2019 onwards - on a monthly basis we will fix how much AKK/Sats/Shabbir/others have contributed to EG or EXPP- we will arrive at this ratio every month-end. Eg
AKK:Sats:Shabbir: Khaled = 40:30:25:5. Now, each one brings skills to the table, so eg -
AKK:Sats:Shabbir:Khaled = 35:35:10:20. So, weighted average = 40*35 : 30 *35 and so on.
This way, we know actual contribution of each person in MT.
Also we need to take into account AKK and Shabbir having put in their own funds into EG ( 2 L as of now and another 6 L later?)
11. Now, if Sats does leave in the middle of 2019, then AKK can decide ( in 2020 or 21 or 22 or even later) as to what his contribution has been, and pay me suitably that time in future. Needless to say, you dont need to remind me of my debt to you of the past, so i have put this point just to help us get the maths in place !
12. honestly speaking, i dont have spare cash as of now for project EG. With things still unclear, will also not want put in money there. However i can borrow from my mom, and put money towards work at EXPP ie marketing collaterals, advertising etc etc, or any other expenses which arise. Will also keep account of the same. Just for info, pl note that my travel expense for BDJ each month will be approx Rs 800 per day * 15 = Rs 12 K + another 5 K for conveyance + 3K for food + 2 K blr travel = Rs 22 K approx per month. I will be bearing all this expense at my end.

1. It is same as eLakshay...true in one sense but wrong mostly...this one is more realistic...and also match with your initial plan..location makes a difference too...u have seen the no of institutes in bdj...employable population anf but lacking critical skill set...
1a.. relocation is inconvenient is also a point against the impression you gave in bdj..bcoz u told it is absolutely ok
3. Additional cost ...definitely part of it should be project cost which we need to share... i think the house should be office cum residence and residence to both of us based on need and if project plan and deesibility is sufficiently positive a bigger house whete first batches of students can be trained...
4. Money not in sight...EG it is true and objective also not money...that is why i want to ur participation get minimized...it is a platform only ...
But expp definitely money will be there ...you may initially work on a draft financial plan(s) with different durations and fees to get a clue...make the sheet to give the variable inputs of number of students duration fees etc...

Gandhinagar: A preliminary probe into the causes of devastating fire in Surat at a coaching class which claimed lives of 22 students last week has highlighted various lapses on part of officials of the local municipal corporation as well as the builders.
The probe also found that the structure where the coaching class was operated was prone to fire incidents. It had low ceilings, and tyres were used for sitting in place of chairs.
The builders had hidden the fact that they had added fourth floor to the three-storey Takshashila Complex while seeking regularisation of the structure in 2013 by paying "impact fee".
According to a top bureaucrat, the officials concerned did not conduct a physical inspection of the building before approving the proposal of the builder.
The fire was triggered by a spark in the compressor of the air conditioner fixed between the first and second floors of the Takshashila Complex last Friday, and spread through a vertical display panel to the top floor with a dome structure where the coaching centre was located, as per a preliminary report submitted by Urban Development Department Principal Secretary Mukesh Puri to the state government Monday.
He said access to an RCC staircase connecting the fourth floor to the lower floor was blocked due to which the students could not escape out of the building. "Another escape route through an iron staircase could not be accessed due to fire," he said.
Puri said three officials have been suspended for various lapses. They are identified as SK Acharya and Krti Mod, both with fire department in Surat Municipal Corporation, and deputy engineer V K Parmar.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had directed Puri to conduct an inquiry and submit a report in three days.
"In 2013, four owners of the complex had applied for regularisation of structure by paying impact fee. Their application was approved in 2015. It is learnt now that they had applied for approval of a building with only three floors, and with no mention of a fourth floor. The responsible engineer did not conduct physical inspection of the building.
"Declaration by the builders was false, approval by the engineers was wrong. Officials who carried out survey for impact fee for the building and approved it without conducting physical verification are also responsible," Puri stated.
"The builders or the tenants using such a structure like the one on the fourth floor of the building are also responsible. Also, there is a big lapse on the part of the person who blocked access to the RCC staircase," he said.
Puri also said that certain fire department officials were also responsible as they did not carry out a survey of the building even after they were directed to do so in the wake of a similar incident in a tuition class in city's Vesu area in November last year. Two persons were killed in that incident.
The structure where the coaching class operated was prone to fire incidents, with low ceilings, tyres for sitting in place of chairs, and an iron staircase attached to it placed on a wooden structure which collapsed.
"The fire went up to the third floor through a flex banner. A dome structure on the fourth floor caught fire. The fourth floor was attached to the third floor by an iron staircase with a wooden structure. The fire reached the fourth floor where the coaching class was operating," he said.
Puri said the smoke caused due to the blaze could not escape as the structure had no ventilator.
As per the report, as many as 918 sensitive establishments were surveyed and 450 have been asked to comply while 39 properties are sealed.
"Fire officials were supposed to carry out the survey. How the building remained to be surveyed is a big lapse," he said.
Puri also said there were three teachers in the coaching centre at the time of the incident. While one of them died, another received serious head injuries while jumping off the building. The third also sustained injury while escaping, but has been arrested.
Puri said the findings are a result of a three-day investigation and a detailed investigation will continue further in the case.
He said Surat has two vehicles with hydraulic ladders but one of these arrived 45 minutes after the fire erupted and was of not much use.
Police have so far arrested three persons, namely Harshul Vekaria, Jignesh Paghdal, and Bhargav Butani.
While Vekaria is the builder, Paghdal used to handle the overall management of the complex and Butani is the owner of the coaching class.

Governments and world policy agencies now have technological unemployment and the future of work on their policy agendas. The rapid emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning in the past decade has taken us by surprise, both in their development and the scope of their applications. ‘Convergent technologies’– nano-bio-info-cogno technologies – in the knowledge system, which enable each other and propel a vision of a science-based future, have an accelerating impact and exercise a determining direction on economic and cultural development. There are multiple challenges facing education in a future digital society. The digital university will see the rise of artificial intelligence, deep learning (machine learning), robotisation, ‘intelligent systems’ in manufacturing and ‘Industry 4.0’ strategies, sometimes called the ‘fourth industrial revolution’, which presage what some critics have called the move to the ‘Bioinformational Society’. This article is part of a series on Transformative Leadership published by University World News in partnership with Mastercard Foundation. UWN is solely responsible for the editorial content. In particular, a new technoscience synergy, ‘convergent technologies’, referred to as the ‘nano-bio-info-cogno’ paradigm, represents a big jump to a new stage of the knowledge economy. It comprises: • Nano – The branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometres, especially the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules; • Bio – The exploitation of biological processes for industrial and other purposes, especially the genetic manipulation of micro-organisms for the production of antibiotics, hormones, etc; • Info – New information technologies with the development of quantum computing; • Cogno – Convergence of nano, bio and IT for remote brain sensing and mind control. These convergent technologies are also referred to as NBIC technologies. Convergence What happens when 21st century technologies converge? The National Science Foundation in the United States has published many reports over the past decade exploring the convergence of NBIC technologies based on a new conception of unity of science at the nano-level that calls for unifying science and higher education. Science based on the unified concepts of matter at the nanoscale provides a new foundation for knowledge creation, innovation and technology integration. The National Science Foundation advances an integrative approach for converging science and engineering at the nanoscale, information and system levels with a refocus on human needs and aspirations. Those needs and aspirations are identified in the development of biomedical and cognitive areas. In education, it argues, we need a parallel ‘integrative approach’ for converging technologies and sciences. This would be a technology-led (innovation) process with a greater applied technology focus based on problem-solving for human needs. Today governments are scrambling to think outside the box, realising that this is a moment unlike any other in history and that all signs indicate that the theoretical principle of the infinite substitution of capital for labour has arrived in applications of AI to labour processes in factories, offices and university research. The huge gearing up for ‘intelligent capitalism’ in manufacturing and services promises the disappearance of labour as a factor in production, according to one scenario which argues jobs will disappear (‘joblessness’). 2 A second scenario (‘hybrid’) argues that we can change the future and we should go for augmented intelligence rather than autonomous learning systems. That will provide a hybrid model with human beings firmly in control. A third scenario (‘normal’) states that it is business as usual and that AI and intelligent systems are just another tech- hype discourse that will erode, but also create, some jobs. All three scenarios are based on models of change, but the first two recognise that there is something at work that is different from old linear industrial processes of scale and assembly. They point to a dynamic model of change involving complex, non-linear, dynamic, system transformations. These were inherent in the promise of the quantum model as probabilistic in principle. This threatens the classical idea of causality and the notion of scientific realism. This probabilism makes the future very hard to predict and makes it very difficult to make public policy. If either the first or second scenarios are more likely to be correct, then we face a bumpy future, especially in those Western societies that built themselves on the principles and institutions of the capital/labour duality: parliamentary democracy representing two dominant parties reflecting business and unions in a tripartite understanding with the government. Rising inequalities The G7 Future of Work Forum records some of these issues and also the anxiety of confronting a future where labour markets are changing, with jobs at risk from automation, with great labour market polarisation and rising inequalities. The 2018 OECD Automation Policy Brief confirms that 14% of jobs are automatable and another 32% will face substantial change in how they are carried out; young people will find it harder to enter the labour market and, while jobs in manufacturing and agriculture face greater risk of automation, others are not immune to change. The greatest risk is to low-skill routine jobs, although education and training will not offset the risks of automation. The ‘joblessness’ scenario is a frightening one, especially for young people who will increasingly find growing competition for a decreasing pool of available jobs with higher entry qualifications and conditions, and lower wages. The future of work in this scenario looks bleak even if we admit that the process is not one of the simple elimination of jobs through increasingly sophisticated automation and the application of intelligent systems to the world of work. It is not clear what function education will serve in the era of final automation once the vocational justification for it is removed. Indeed, as a thought experiment it is useful to contemplate the question: what is the purpose and function of higher education in the age of final automation once labour as a set of processes and as a political category has disappeared?

1. Give Teachers a Voice
Great principals hire the right teachers and then get out of the way. Why hire the best a brightest and then tell them
what to do? Let’s stop micro-managing teachers. Teachers need to have a seat at the table. They are the ones that need to
be leading teams on curriculum choices, instructional approaches, and school procedures as they spend their days working
directly with children.
2. Give New Teachers On-Going Professional Development
Too often, new teachers are given the keys to their classrooms and wished good luck. The on-boarding process of many
school districts is virtually non-existent. We spend way too much time during those precious days after teachers are hired
and before the school year starts talking at them about district procedures, print shop ordering forms, and how to call in a
substitute teacher. They should be spending that time on professional development that matters: instructional practices,
intervention systems, data analysis, formative assessment creation … We don’t need to waste time on housekeeping.
3. Provide Opportunities for Teacher Leadership
Strong teachers need to be encouraged to step into leadership roles. Strong teachers have great ideas on how to improve
and move a school forward. It is important to test out new ideas and take risks. This keeps our educational system
healthy and innovative. There is nothing worse for new teachers to experience than having their new ideas shunned by a
system that is focused on repeating itself rather than innovation.
4. Bring in Technology
When it comes to technology, it is hard for education to compete with private industry. Upon being hired into the private
workforce, employees are issued new laptops, iPhones, tablets and other tools. In many districts, teachers get a ten
year old desktop computer, or if they are lucky, a refurbished laptop. We need to do a better job in bring technology
into schools and getting it into the hands of teachers. They will be excited about the possibilities that the technology will
give them. In turn, their students will also be excited. This will create an atmosphere of innovation, a characteristic that
new teachers are looking for in a school / district.
5. Pay Them A Decent Wage
I put salary on this list because I believe it should be. While research shows that it is not the biggest factor for teachers
leaving the profession, I do believe that it is a major consideration. In many metropolitan communities across the
country, new teachers can’t afford their own apartment. They are forced to live further out, requiring them to drive
long distances to and from work everyday, or have to live with several roommates. Teachers should make enough money
to live in the communities they work in. It is hard to convince someone to stay in the profession when they are priced
out of the housing market.

Employees don’t need to be friends with their boss but they need to have a relationship. The boss is
too much of an integral part of their daily lives at work for an uncomfortable relationship.

The boss provides direction and feedback, spends time in one-to-one meetings, and connects the
employee to the larger organization. To have a toxic relationship with the person an employee reports
to undermines the employee’s engagement, confidence, and commitment.
A bad boss is also the number one reason why employees quit their job. Here's how to get along with
your boss .
2. Bored and unchallenged by the work itself
No one wants to be bored and unchallenged by their work. Really. If you have an employee who acts
as if she is, you need to help her find her passion . Employees want to enjoy their job. They spend
more than a third of their days working, getting ready for work, and transporting themselves to work.
Work closely with employees who report to you to ensure that each employee is engaged , excited,
and challenged to contribute, create, and perform. Otherwise, you will lose them to an employer who
will.
3. Relationships with coworkers
When an employee leaves my company, every email that is sent to the whole company, to say good-
bye, includes a comment about passionate coworkers who the employee cares about and will miss.
Second only to an employee’s manager, the coworkers with whom he sits, interacts, and serves with
on teams, are critical components of an employee’s work environment.
Research from the Gallup organization indicates that one of the 12 factors that illuminate whether an
employee is happy on their job is having a best friend at work. Relationships with coworkers retain
employees. Notice and intervene if problems exist.
4. Opportunities to use skills and abilities
When employees use their significant skills and abilities on the job, they feel a sense pride,
accomplishment, and self-confidence. They are participating in activities that they are good at and
that stretch their skills and abilities even further.
Employees want to develop and grow their skills. If they’re not able to do this in your jobs, they’ll
find one where they can. This includes opportunity. If an employee can’t see a path to continued
growth in their current organization, they are likely to look elsewhere for a career development or
promotion opportunity. Make sure that you’re talking with them and that you know their hopes and
dreams.
5. Contribution of work to the organization’s business goals
Managers need to sit with each reporting employee and discuss the relevance of the employee’s job
and key contributions and deliverables to the overall strategy and business plan of the organization.
Employees need to feel connected and that they are part of an effort that is larger than just their job.
Too many managers assume that the employee will receive the communication from executive staff
and make this leap. They don’t. They need your help to understand and connect their job to the bigger
picture. If they’re not part of it, you’ll lose them.
6. Autonomy and independence

Organizations talk about empowerment , autonomy, and independence, but they are not something
that you can do to people or give them. They are traits and characteristics that an employee needs to
pursue and embrace.
You are responsible for the work environment that enables them to do this. They are responsible for
doing it.
A colleague presented a session about the Oz Principles at a recent company event. He pointed out
that by creating a culture of accountability, you create empowerment as employees own and execute
their responsibilities. Without this, your best employees will leave.
7. Meaningfulness of job
Ah, yes, meaningful work. We all want to do something that makes a difference, that isn’t busy
work or transactional work, and that contributes to something bigger than ourselves. Ambitious and
doable. But, managers must help employees see where their work contributes to the execution of
deliverables that make a difference in the world.
With some products and services — cancer research, feeding the hungry, animal rescue, diagnosing
and curing illnesses, producing milk or crops — meaningful is obvious, but everyone’s work needs
the same meaningfulness. Help employees connect to why their work has meaning or they will find
an employer who will.
8. Organization’s financial stability
Financial instability: a lack of sales, layoffs or reduced work hours, salary freezes, successful
competitors highlighted in the news, bad press, employee turnover , mergers and acquiring
companies, all lead to an employee’s feeling of instability and a lack of trust .
Employees who are worried tend to leave. Make every change and potential change transparent. Let
them know how the business is doing at all times and what the organization’s plans are for staying on
track or recovering in the future.
But, the most important issue here is the employees’ trust in and respect for the management team. If
they respect your judgment, direction, and decision-making, they will stay. If not, they will leave.
After all, they have the financial stability of their families to consider when they decide which
executive they will follow — or not.
9. Overall corporate culture
While it’s not the top item on employee lists, the overall culture of your company makes a difference
for employees. Does your organization appreciate employees, treat them with respect , and provide
compensation , benefits , and perks that demonstrate respect and caring?
Is your work environment for people conducive to employee satisfaction and engagement? Do you
provide events, employee activities, celebrations, and team building efforts that make employees feel
that your organization is a great place to work?
Employees appreciate a workplace in which communication is transparent, management is accessible,
executives are approachable and respected, and direction is clear and understood. Your overall

culture keeps employees — or turns them away. Which gets you what you want and need for
success?
10. Management’s recognition of employee job performance
Many place employee recognition further up the list, but this is where recognition scored in a recent
Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) survey of employees. While recognition is
important, it is not among employees’ chief concerns.
A lack of recognition can affect many of the above factors, especially culture, but it’s probably not
the deciding factor in an employee's decision to leave your organization. Provide a lot of genuine
appreciation and recognition as icing on the cake for employee retention.
But, pay attention to the more significant factors, the cake, if you wish to retain your best employees.
Make recognition the way you live in your organization to keep your best talent .
If you pay attention to these 10 factors, you will reduce turnover and retain your most wanted
employees. If not, you’ll be holding regular exit interviews and good-bye lunches. It’s expensive to
recruit a new employee. Why not expend the effort necessary to retain the employees that you have
already painfully recruited and hired?
